Alice Munro to receive
Order of Ontario
TORONTO - Award-winning
Clinton author Alice Munro has ac-
cepted an invitation to be invested
in the Order of Ontario this sum-
mer, Henry N.R. Jackman, Lieuten-
ant Governor of Ontario, has an-
nounced. Munro, who was out of
the province and unable to he
reached at the time the first an-
nouncement was made in April,
will be the twentieth person to re-
ceive the honour this year.
The Order of Ontario is the most
prestigious award that the province
can bestow upon its citizens. It rec-
ognizes and honours individuals
who have enriched our society by
attaining the highest standards of
excellence and achievement in their
chosen field of endeavour.
"Ontario is fortunate to be home
to many talented and extraordinary
people who contribute to the prov-
ince's growing international reputa-
tion as a centre of innovation,
achievement and excellence," said
the Lieutenant Governor. "It is my
privilege to congratulate and thank
Ms. Munro and each of the other 19
recipients who are joining the Or-
der this year for the outstanding
contributions they have made to the
life of this province."

RE: SPOT SPRAYING OF WEEDS
This is to notify residents of the County of Huron that
the county will be
SPOT SPRAYING WEEDS
In rural areas commencing June 6, 1994, for a period
of approximately 12 - 14 weeks. Pesticides to be
used are ESTAPROP, Registration No. 14803;
AMITROL-T, Registration No. 16548, and DIPHENO-
PROP 700, Registration No. 15707. To be controlled
are noxious weeds as per the Provincial Weed
Control Act.
This notice complies with regulation 914 of the
Pesticides Act. For further information and for the
locations of the roads to he treated, please call Joe
Gibson, Weed Inspector at (519) 233-3229.
