The 2(X) or so students enrolled in art classes at the high school -are all being asked to contribute at least one piece of their work to a gallery show that will open next Thursday evening, May 19 from 7-9 p.m. in the targe gymnasium. "We want to till the big gym with art," said Wendy Rau, the OAC student who is organizing the event. Art will include drawings, paintings; sculptures, and everything else, including computer graphics, that will show off the talents of the South Huron students. Donations from businesses have been coming into the art department, which will help with the costs of framing and matting pieces of art, as well as setting up some of the displays. "If we have any money left over, we'll use to buy art supplies," said teacher Suzanne Maple. The Thursday evening show will include a reception with refreshments for attendees. Friday, the show will be opened again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a special invitation to neighbouring elementary school art teach- ers to bring their students through to see what might await them if they follow art instruction into high school. • Lucan United Cht WORSHIP 11 AM 00001•1 a1r,a eel Kit mno+oa C 7f1'WNE W E l_ VlengVllay Inthavong (!eft) and Dana Wamsley are two OAC art students at South Huron Dis- trict High School who will be contributing to next week's Gallery '94.
