Oddfellows hold friendship night
KIRKTON - Exeter Oddfellows
held their annual Friendship Night
dinner and dance at Kirkton Wood-
ham Community Centre, March 26.
There were 242 attended the dinner

Heart of Mary Church in Grand
Bend was very well attended dur-
ing Holy Week Services.
The Catholic Women's League
served a pancake and sausage
breakfast to members of the parish
after Masses on Palm Sunday.
About 170 people enjoyed the
breakfast and fellowship. The sau-
sages were donated by Gary Masse
of the Grand Bend Tenderspot.
The next CWL meeting will be
April 12 at 8 p.m. in the parish hall,
following 7:15 p.m. Mass. The Or-
der of Alhambra is planning a
Communion Breakfast for the Sir
Nobles and their Sultanas April 17,
at St. Christopher's Church.
Easter Ecumencial Service
The women's group of the Grand
Bend Church of God hosted an
Easter Ecumenical service on
March 29. Lucille Vincent was
hostess for the evening. About 75
women from area churches attend-
ed the event.
The guest speaker was Carol
Gingerich of Exeter, who talked
about her past missionary work in
Afghanistan and other countries.
She is the present owner of the
World of Goods Store in Exeter,
selling crafts made by handicapped
workers from the Third World.

Michael Stevens (left) of Dashwood, who stars in the up-
coming movie The Return of Tommy Tricker, presented
Grant Porter of London with one of the prizes Porter won
as winner of Canada Post's 1993 Stamp Month Contest.
Porter won a prize package valued at $10,000, which will
take him and his family on a dinosaur dig in the Badlands
of Alberta this summer. The Tommy Tricker sequel is set
to open in Canada -wide English and French versions this
October, and is being presented in association with Can-
ada Post.
