Exeter Broncos busting towards championship series
MITCHELL - strike up the band, the Exeter Broncos are going to the
show.
Saturday afternoon in Mitchell, the Broncos skated to a 5-2 win and will
now head to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association atom 'CC' finals
against Delhi.
Game One goes Thursday in Delhi at 7:30 p.m. and then it's back to Ex-
eter on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The third game was to be determined but it
will probably be played on Sunday.
Exeter opened the scoring at 7:49 of the first period when Mark Bilinsky
converted a pass from Brandon Martin and Ryan Groot. Although Mitch-
ell tied it up, Groot scored at the buzzer to regain the lead for the Broncos.
Bilinksy and Martin had the assists on the buzzer -beater.
Very early in the second, the score was tied again but Bilinsky converted
a perfect pass from Overholt and the visitors went ahead where they v ould
stay.
Mike Seip scored nine seconds into the third period as he took a pass
from Overholt off the draw, cut in and put the puck just above the goalie's
glove.
Overholt added one more for the winners with an empty-netter with 34
ticks left on the clock. Martin with his third assist of the game, and An-
drew Maver set up the goal.
Goalie Ryan Sullivan picked up another win in net for the Broncos.
Thursday in Exeter, the two teams battled to a 5-5 draw which forced
Saturday's game.
Trailing 4-2 Friday night, the Broncos managed to come back. Seip and
Steven Rasenberg each had a goal and an assist while Matt Rowe, Over-
holt and Martin also connected. Jared Bourne, Groot, Bilinsky and Maver
