Customer service top priority at Huron Tractor
EXETER - Emphasizing that service is the top priority at Huron Tractor,
partner John Rudderham says, "Our service starts as soon as the customer
makes the purchase of our equipment."
In the past year Huron Tractor has purchased a new highway truck and
recently a detachable combine trailer and Rudderham says this type of
trailer will cut loading and unloading time by about 50 percent.
Investments like these are needed to keep up with the expectations of our
customers.
Huron Tractor's Mission Statement is dedicated to serve the customer bet-
ter with retraining and rededication of all employees. Bill Baker is now the
in-house technical trainer and the new technical manager is Charlie Wise.
The objective of the in -dealership training program is to have employees
learn the product and be trained more quickly and more efectively.
Dennis Johns is the company's new field technician. Four fully equipped
service vans are on the road. Two are out of the Exeter operation and one
eat h from Blyth and Thameiford. The service vehicles are fully equipped
to do minor repairs in the field.
Within the past year, a Huron Tractor dealership has been established in
Thamesford with partner Henry Winters as store manager. The same high
quality of sales and service is available in Blyth and Thamesford as in the
Exeter operation.
Real emphasis is put on keeping f ers' equipment running during the
use season. With a total staff of over60 ple, 35 are dedicated to provid-
ing service parts and service repairs. "One of the keys to keeping our farm-
ers profitable" says sales manager Frank Winters is preventative mainte-
nance on their machinery. The difficult harvest season of 1992 proved
how important it was to have equipment well maintained. A committment
to Annual Service Inspections will guarantee well -working machinery in
the fields.
During the winter months these inspections are carried out in 20 bays of
modern shop space with service technicians using high-tech diagnostic
equipment. Top quality inspections guarantee less down-time in the valu-
able harvesting season and increase the resale value of equipment. When
each piece of equipment has been inspected it receives a "Seal of Reliabili-
ty" saying, "This machine has had its Annual Service Inspection."
Over the last three years, Johq Deere has introduced a full line of new
tractors and combines. These models, 6000 Series and 7000 Series trac
and Maximizer combines are designed with more electronic controls and
more safety features aimed at increasing performance, comfort and ease of
operation.

75 to 85 were made to tackle today's farming challenges, to do better work
in Tess time. Frank Winters adds that the customer acceptance of these
tractors has been excellent.
Two new transmissions let you shpt on -the -go to select the optimum
working speed for maximum performance and productivity. You also get
all-new, higher capacity hydraulics, increased lift capacities, and the un-
surpassed comfort and visibility of the all-new ComfortGard cab'or new
platform open station.
Shuttle shifting from forward to reverse is synchronized for enhanced
loader operations. You get smooth. clash -free shifting. Straight-line shuttle
shifting gives a 17 percent increase in re'erse speed compared to first for-
ward.John Deere is known for outstanding tractor hydraulics. And this is
the finest, most responsive system we have ever designed. The pressure
and flow compensating design means you get the response you need, eve-
ry time. More pressure and flow are available, and they vary to match your
demand.
The new ComfortGard cab has 40 percent more room, lower sound lev-
els, superb all-around visibility, new controls and a state-of-the-art climate
control system. Two -door entry is standard on all three models.
Five models in the 92 to 145 horsepower 7000 Series tractors are built
Waterloo, Iowa and offer the productive features you have been looking
for. These include high-pressure, high-capacity hydraulics, tremendous lift
capacity, rapid torque response, outstanding power delivery, excellent fuel
efficiency, all -day comfort, drift -free steering and more.
No two farms are alike. That's why John Deere builds these new work-
horses in so many different configurations. You can have a 7200 or 7400
tractor specifically customized to your operation. So instead of buying a
tractor built for someone else, you get just the right transmission, hydraul-
ic pump, operator's station, tread setting, axles, and tires, even crop clear-
ances. Check out a new 7000 Series tractor today.
From simple daily maintenanccnce (with service points you can reach
from the ground), to the most advance line of engines, transmissions and
hydraulics available, John Deere 7000 Series tractors are built to make
your jobs flow more smoothly.
No matter what crop you harvest- feed corn, food corn or popcorn,•edi-
ble beans or soybeans, sorghum or sunflower, small grain or grass seed
you'll put more and better quality grain in the bin with a John Deere Max-
imizer combine.
If you are 1 ing for cleaner grain samples to lower dockage and boost
premiums, check ut John Deere's exclusive Quadra-Flo cleaning system.
With its unique precleaner, nothing takes out weeds, stems, and debris bet-
ter than Quarda-Flo. Meet the first true combine engine. It's powerful and
fuel efficient. And you'll find it only in a John Deere Maximizer combine.
The exclusive electronic engine control unit actually thinks like a com-
bine works. It offers programmed fuel delivery for torque curves tailored
exactly to combine power needs. So when the enine lugs and falls below
rated speed, the ECU meters adjust the right amount of extra fuel. The
steep torque rise and Power Bulge keep a Maximizer combine cruising
along at peak threshing, separating, and cleaning efficiency.
Huron Tractor was established in 1961 by Harry Winters and Jack Van
Busse) and in the next few years they were joined by Herb Verbeek, Earl
Long and Bruce Hasselback.
In 1988, an ownership transition period was commenced. Now operating
the business are partners Frank Winters, Peter Halivoott, John Rudder -
ham, Henry, Winters and Paul Van Ods. ' ' ' ' • ,
Huron Tractor will be presenting their 19th annual Farm Industry Show
on February 14 and 15 at their Exeter north location. A John Deere Day
film will be running continuously both days. Ride and drive new tractor
and utility vehicles daily from 1.30 to 4 p.m.
There will be new product displays, exhibits and the Trade Barn will be
open with an indoor display of reconditioned combines and tractors.
A play area will be available for the kids and a special ladies night is
scheduled for Monday night, February 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Lunch is pro-
vided at noon each day.
