Farm Supply Ltd. in Zurich is optimistic that the upturn in the farm economy last year will con- tinue in 1994. Gingerich says, "1993 was a good year. Our sales of new and used equipment were on the increase. In addition many farmers are repairing and reconditioning their present equipment. Our service shop is real busy and it doesn't seem to be slowing up. The parts department is excellent and Gingerich says, "We have a large inventory of parts, but we can get parts for anything we sell on a next day basis." All mechanics on staff are continually updating their skills by attending regular schools on service training. In this feature a year ago, Gingerich said he was going to Independence, Missouri in a few days to attend a White dealer's meeting when a new White tractor with horsepower in excess of 100 was expected to be intro- duced. It did happen and the new Agco White 6100 series tractors are in stock at the Zurich dealership. The White 6100 series will provide more com- fort. performance and value. It's a workhorse that runs like a thorough- bred. Beneath the sleek new thoroughbred exterior is the power and per- formance you have come to expect from a "Workhorse." You will still find the strength of a Cummins turbocharged diesel engine and a solid ironcast mainframe. But, you'll also find a new 18x9 speed full powershift transmission with electronic control for more versatility than ever before...a redesigned slop- ing hood that tilts forward for complete access to the engine and a revolu- tionary operator's seat that not only pivots, but includes an exclusive seat - mounted control console that moves with you. Three lever -type couplers, backed by a variable displacement axial pis- ton pump, provide the capacity to handle today's bigger hydraulic - actuated equipment. Keep track of engine performance and field progress at a glance with full instrumentation and a "Field Facts" monitor that displays engine hours, field area covered, PTO rpm and ground speed. A comfortable full-size passenger seat, complete with seat belt permits a passenger to ride along in comfort and safety. White's standard -equipment full powershift transmission provides 18 forward speeds and nine reverse speeds without gaps or overlaps that waste power or efficiency. Service features were"added in, not added on to every White 6100 Series TOUGHER! ••g • Quality Skid -Steer Tires Help You Get More Done • Heavy-duty sidewalls resist punctures. scrubbing and tears • Reinforced bead area reduces potential failure • Rim guard protects against flats from debris between wheel and bead • Self-cleaning lug sheds mud, rock, debris • Improved construction reduces bouncing • Flat profile provides more ground contact, greater traction, extended wear. According to Rick Gingerich the White Series 6000 planters are proving to be a big seller. Here are some comments from Allan and Neil Payne of Thamesford, Ontario about the White Series 6000 planters. "What we really like about the White planter is how easy it is to operate. All the settings are easy to make. We have owned planters with air meter- ing systems since 1976. What's nice about the White planter is that we just go to the field with it and know it will work perfectly. The I6 -row forward fold model we have now is uncomplicated to use when compared to the way other planters fold. It doesn't have wings or couplers to connect before planting. The White planter makes it easy to go from the road to the field. It takes just one minute to fold." C.G. also handles Speedy 5000 Series drills manufactured by United Farm Tools which Gingerich says are ideal for all types of soil and for no - till, minimum -till and conventional seeding. White New Idea has a full line of farm equipment including planters, tillage equipment and manure spreaders. White's no -till and narrow row attachments are the right options for today's conservation conscious corn and soybean grower. A full line of White lawn and garden tractors and equipment is also car- ried at C.G. Despite a big swing to no -till planting. Kvernland continues to be the world's largest plow manufacturer and C.G. carries their mouldboard plows. A full line of Case construction equipment is handled in Zurich includ- ing backhoes, bulldozers and skid steer loaders. C.G. Farm Supply is sponsoring a Planting for Profit Seminar at the Zu- rich Community Centre on February 17. The event begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. to be followed by a program on planting throughout the after- noon. C.G. Farm Supply was originated in 1962 by Cleve Gifgerich and his wife Margaret and now continued by family members. The company cele- brated its 30th anniversary in 1992. The staff at C.G. includes in addition to Rick Gingerich, the parts depart- ment of manager Dennis Estep and Andy Grainger.
