GRANTON - The Granton Worn -
en's Institute met at the home of El-
sie Dann on Tuesday afternoon,
January 18. The program topic was
Public Relations convened by Nora
Wissel and Margaret Oakley and
the roll call was answered with
blues chasers. The motto 'To make
life most worthwhile, try to remem-
her to wear a smile' was illustrated
in a reading 'Happiness Is' by Mar-
garet Oakley. Elsie Dann read an
article for Nora Wissel about Dia-
na, Princess of Charities' which
told of her work in public relations.
Muriel Lewis chaired the meet-
ing. Correspondence included the
F.W.LO. president's letter and a
thank you from the Wildwood
Nursing Home residents. The list of
articles donated in December to the
Children's Hospital of Western On-
tario was also red,' and the
F.W.I.O. questionnaire was dis-
cussed.
The Granton Fire Department
held a public demonstration of the
'Jaws of Life' equipment on Satur-
day afternoon.
At St. Thomas' Anglican church
on Sunday, Rev. Stephen Emery's
message was about corning close to
God when weary and heavy laden.
Service time next Sunday will be
8:30 a.m. on the fifth Sunday be-
cause of the Vestry meeting at
Saintshury.
Al Granton United Church on
Sunday, pastor Normalic Voakes'
sermon topic was 'Wake-up Call'.
The Community Bible Church
and area men have been testing a
breakfast program on the last Satur-
day morning of each month. The
next Men's Breakfast will be held
Saturday, January 29 from 8 to 10
