Due to bad weather, the Broncos only had
seven players and no regular goalie. 'Tyler
Taylor put on the pads and played a splendid
gt me! Also, five Novices from the Waxers
helped out the Broncos and played a very
strong gain. Thanks and good work to Ke-
vin Overholt, Kevin Dickins, Matt Anstett,
Tun Meidinger and Amanda Wuenh.

Stephen Sonics finalists at tournament
Silver Stick '94
FOREST - It was a long weekend but unfortunately one which did not
end on a bright note for the Stephen Sonics.
Sunday morning at the Atom North American Silver Stick final in For-
est, the Sonics were beaten 6-1 by St. Clements. Jeff Finkbeiner had the
lone goal with the assist to Henny Pfaff.
Stephen forward Shawn Sherwood and defenseman Adam McCann
were named to the Silver Stick All-Star Team.
The Sonics opened the tournament Friday morning with a 4-2 win over
Thcdford. Finkbeiner and Sherwood scored with Brian Dixon' having two
assists and other assists from Pfaff, BryarAtucktess,--,prayden Lord and
Danny Mosurinjohn.
Goalie Chris Gtavin recorded the shutout in a 2-0 win over Forest on
Saturday morning. Dixon and Sherwood scored as Finkbeiner had two as-
sists with one each to Pfaff and Jeremy VanBergen.
Sherwood and Finkbeiner each netted a pair in Saturday afternoon's 5-2
win over Watford. VanBergen also scored with assists to Dixon, J.R. Da-
vies, Stuckless, McCann, Pfaff and Lord.
Storm beaten in final ,
KINCARDINE - Despite having just five forwards, the Zurich Storm
nearly won the Peewee Silver Stick final in Kincardine on Saturday.
Down just 4-3 after two periods, thanks to some good goaltending by
Darryl Smale, the Storm came up short 7-4 and saw just their second loss
of the season compared to 24 wins.
Scoring for Zurich were Jarrett Jeffrey with three goals while Brad
Brown netted one and added two assists. Both Jennifer Jeffrey and Jason
Finkbeiner had two assists while Joe DeBus helped out on a goal.
Long wait hurts Thunder
MOORETOWN - Waiting and waiting is what the Zurich Thunder had
to do in Mooretown at tie North American Juvenile Silver Stick Tourna-
ment. -
Thursday the game with Glencoe was delayed three hours and after sit-
ting in their equipment for the long period, Zurich lost 7-1 on the lone goal
by Shane Pfaff.
Friday the game was delayed nearly an hour but this had a better result
as Zurich beat Elma-Logan in a rough 3-1 contest. len Geiger, Ryan
Wells and Rob Kramer scored for Zurich, all in the third'riod.
Against Ripley on Saturday it was ah hour-and=a-hid wait and when the
game did start, the injury plagued Thunder squeaked out a 4-3 win. Scor-
ing were Jeff Burton, Shane Pfaff, Doug Jones and Cam Rader.

Exeter dropped a 5-2 decision in
their opener to Port Hope on Friday
and that teat i went on to win two
more, gaining them automatic ad-
vancement into the final.
The Generals won their second
game 5-0 over Mooretown as Dar-
ren Kints had the shutout while de-
fensemen Ben Armstrong paced
the offence with two goals.
Also scoring were Chris Mac-
Donald, Bill Hodge and Gavin
Snell. Marty DeBruyn, Jim Die-
trich and Trevor Taylor assisted on
the goals. Three stars were Arm-
strong, MacDonald and Matt God -
bolt.
Exeter handled Petrolia 7-3 Sat-
urday night as Snell fired a pair for
the winners. MacDonald had a goal
and t (io assists while DeBruyn had
a goal and an assist. Also scoring
were Glenn Hines and Adam Jean.
Chad Gilftllan and Armstrong had
the assists.
Three stars were Trevor Taylor,
MacDonald and Hines. The Gener-
als now gear up for OMHA and
Shamrock League playoffs.
