Groups resume in Centralia CENTRALIA - Lost and Found Club, Youth Group and Adult Bible Study resumed on Wednesday night after a break for the holidays. A welcome break in the weather on Friday night saw lots of action at the Exeter Public School for a game of volleyhall. Weather per- mitting there will be volleyball A each Friday night in January. Youth for Christ was cancelled on Saturday night due tp the weath- er. The Faithwalkers who met earli- er in the afternoon for practise, were snowbound for a few hours at quiz leaders Scott and Lori Craw - ford's home in Zurich. Lots of games passed the time and all made it safely home later in the evening. The Youth Group won't have to worry about having enough snow for their Tobogganing Party on Sat- urday afternoon. Rev. Peggy (> rpbell-Geddes read a card of thanks for the special Christmas Eve offering from Tara, Chris, Paul and- the rest of the Milts family from Lucan after the tragicjre. Rev. Clare Geddes gave an infor- mative sermon entitled "Religious Dropouts". He explained how many people lost their faith during Jesus time, and still do today, through preoccupation with daily living or frustration or boredom with relig- ion. Like the ocean, however, relig- ion has inescapable depths. Anyone interested in Confirma- tion classes should contact Rev. Geddes very soon at 228-6974. Communications workshops• will resume in the church basement on Tuesday, January 11 at 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. Centralia United Church Women will meet Thursday, January 13 at 8:00 p.m. The Official Board will meet in the church basement on Wednesday, January 19 at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, January 16, a special service of Holy Baptism will be. conducted. Church members will want to note upcoming activities on Sun- day, January 30. Everyone is anvil': ed to attend the service and potluck lunch, followed by the annual con- gregational meeting.
