•Ontario 'Civilian Commission on Police Services co-chairman
Douglas Drinkwalter denied he played any part in approving of the
town police chief auending a convention, and billing the town.
Council, however, said that wasn't the understanding they got from
their lawyers on the matter, leading them to question where the ap-
proval actually came from.

ing the emergency ward. They threatened to withdraw their servic-
es from the hospital unless their per -patient OHIP fees were re-
placed with an hourly wage of $60 during the day, and 570 at
night.

EXETER - The OPP are in-
vestigating the theft of not
one, but two car engines tak-
en from an Exeter back yard
sometime. 'Thursday.
The engines, which were in
the yard of an Anne St.
house, are described as a
Chrysler 318 cubic inch with
an orange block and a three -
speed automatic transmission
attached, and the second is is
a Chrysler 360 cubic inch,
with an orange block and
valve covers, also with a
three -speed automatic trans-
mission.
Sometime prior to last
Wednesday, a large red and
white railway crossing sign
was stolen from its post at
the Wellington St. crossing
in Exeter. The sign, in the
shape of an "X", is valued at
about $150, say police.
