low these fire prevention and
safety tips: (
• If a fire starts on the stove,
place a tight -fitting lid over the
pan to smother the flames, then
turn off the burner.
• Keep all debris and combust-
ible items such as paper towels,
dish towels and paper bags,
away from the stove.
• Keep pot handles turned in
so they can't be accidentally
knocked off the stove.
• Keep young children away
from the stove while preparin

• When removing food front
the microwave, always open the
wrap used in cooking away from

Thank you to people in Exeter
"Exeter is a very
service -minded community."
Dear Editor.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the
people in the Exeter community for helping Huron
United Way. Although we did not reach our goal
this year, we will remain loyal to the universal hope
of providing support to our local citizens in need. A
person or two cannot do it alone. It is only by the
compassion of many concerned citizens, working
together to volunteer their time and dollars, that our
goals will be met. Exeter is a very service -minded
community. Your support is appreciated.
A special thank you to Jack Urquhart who donated
much time to helping to bring our plea to the people
in this area. Because of him, and others like him, the
agencies supported by Huron United Way will be
abl6 to continue their programs - programs that offer
so much hope to so many in need.

Bible teaches how to discipline
"The Bible method
still works and will
work for, every age"
Dear Sir:
Answer to the problem of violence December 8th
issue of Times Advocate.
After the transgression and sin of Adam and Eve,
the first people on the earth, every person born on
this earth was born with the sin nature, unless that
sin nature is conquered or controlled the inevitable
result is violence and vandalism. Prov. 19:18. Chas-
tcn`thy son while there is hope and let not thy soul
spare for his crying. Many other verses in the Prov-
erbs teach us how to discipline and train children.
Regardless what modern psychologists advocate
the Bible method still works, and will work for eve-
ry age and for all time.
One more verse of scripture Proverbs 22 verse 6.
Train up a child on the way he should go; and when
he is old he will not depart from it.
