1 love you Santa Claus and Rudolph. I would like
talking Big Bird for Christmas or 1 would like a race
car. 1 would also like a jolly
jumper for my new brother
Grant. He is too little to write
so that's my job. I love all of the
reindeers. We will leave you
cookies and carrots for your
snacks. I would like a kitten.

Snowflakes
By Matthew Johns

Once there was a snowflake
named Groo
Who groaned and snored
Who woke up in the morning and
bumped his head
And couldn't get up in the morn-
ing!
Blake

Twas the Night Before
Christmas
By Jay Wilson
McGillivray Central
Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the garage,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a Dodge.
The tires were hung
on a nail with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas
would fill them with air.
The key was nestled
under the mat on the floor,
but of course I had
forgotten to lock the door.
The car was in mint condition,
and those.are the facts,
it had just settled down,
for along winter'3 wax. •
When out in the garage
I heard a lot of static,
I knew in a moment
he used the door-o-matic.
Away to the car
I flew like a flash,
tore open the door
and leaned on the dash.
When what to my wondering eyes
should appear
but a backfiring sleigh
had landed right here.
With a little old driver,
so lonely and sick,
1 knew in a moment
it must be St. Nick!
More rapid than eagles
his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted
and called them by name:
"Now Ford! now Chevy!
now, GM and Ram!
On, Mercury! on Dodge!
on, Toyota and Grand Am!
To the top of the curb!
to the top of the walk!
Now fly away! fly away!
fly like a hawk!"
And then, in a moment,
saw black as tar
the tire and window
of each little car.
He was dressed all in leather,
from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all black
like ashes and soot.
A bundle of wrenches
he had tied to his leg,
and he looked like a carpenter
hammering a peg.

His eyes, were like headlights!
His hair was like snow!
and his droll little mouth
was drawn up like a bower
he spoke not a word,
filled the tires with air,
filled the gas tank with gas,
and did it with care.
and pressing a button
with the side of his nose,
And giving a nod
up to the sky he rose.
He shouted as he rose out of sight,
"Good Bye, to you all
and have a wonderful night."
The Night Before
Christmas
By Kristylee Varley
Grade 2, Exeter Public School
It was the night before Christmas
and everyone was sleeping. All of a
sudden 1 heard something. So I
crept out of bed to see what it was.
Could it be Santa Claus? Yes it
was. He had a cherry nose and a
pipe. He was a jolly man. when
Santa was gone I crept out to open
a present. And another, and an-
other. And another. I was afraid to
tell. At last I said it. "I have already
opened all my presents."
The Elf pet Didn't
By Jamie Darling
Grade 3, Exeter Public Schad
Once there was an elf. His name
was Kio. Santa didn't like turn.
Santa loved all the other elves.
One Christmas Kio did the most
work. Santa didn't know that Kio
could do that much work. So Santa
said that Kio could ride Dasher on
Christmas Eve. Kio was so happy
that he jumped up on down 100
times. About three days later Kio
got married. Then one year later he
had a baby elf and the whole thing
started again.
