SAINTSBURY - Sympathy is ex-
tended by friends and relatives
from St. Patrick's to Clayton and
Alice Kooy and family and the
MacDonald families in the death of
Mary Kooy of Centralia, whose fu-
neral was held last Wednesday
from the C. Haskett and Son Funer-
al Home in Lucan. Kooy was born
and raised in Biddulph and was a
member of St. Patrick's Church,
Saintsbury. She will be greatly
missed. A time of fellowship fol-
lowed the service at St. Patrick's
Parish Hall.
St. Patrick's Holy Communion
Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Ad-
vent 3 on Sunday, December 12.
Rev. Stephen Emery for his chil-
dren's focus spoke to the children
on the third Advent Candle for Joy.
Assisting in the lighting of the can-
dles, Crystal Davis #1 Hope, Court-
ney MacGillivray #2 Peace, Travis
and Starr Davis #3 Pink candle for
Joy.
St. Patrick's Sunday School
Christmas concert and pageant and
church service, will be held at 6:30
p.m. Saturday evening December
18. Scripture readings are to be 2
Samuel 7:1-11, 16, Romans 16:25-
29, responsive reading Luke 1:47-
15, 'or Psalm 89:1-4, 19-26, The
Holy Gospel Luke 1:26-38.
Coffee and goodies are to follow
the service and hopefully a visit
from Santa.
The adults are asked to please of-
fer their talents in music or read-
ings to help with the concert.

p.m.

The St. Patrick's ladies held their
December A.C.W. meeting follow-
ing a delicious dinner at the North
Star Restaurant last week. With 10
members present, reports, were read
and business taken care of, and new
events planned for 1994.

Wilson was the oldest barber in Ontario at 90 years of age before he retired. Satur-
day aftemoon the man who cut hair in Lucan and Clandeboye was honoured with a huge party
at the Ailsa Craig Craigholme to celebrate his 100th birthday. Over 100 people attended the
event, including his children to his great -great grandchildren. Visitors came from as far as Ot-
tawa and Manitoulin Island for the event. At right is one of Millson's neighbours, Evelyn O'Neil
extending her birthday wishes.

dren's Aid Society of Huron
aunty has planned communi-
ty free skates in Seaforth, Clin-
ton, Goderich, Exeter and
Wingham.
The Children's Aid Society's
reason for sponsoring these
free skates is to offer to the
families and children of our
communities an opportunity to
get together and participate in
an activity that can be fun for
all ages. Families and children
and individuals are all wel-
come. Grandparents, parents
and children of all ages are in-
vited to skate up a storm.
In Exeter the free skate will
be on December 19 from 2 -
3:30 p.m.

'WI and their spouses enjoyed a
:Christmas meal at Allen's Cafe on
"Tuesday evening December 7., Al-
dene Wolfe invited all the group to
her home for the rest of the eve-
ning.
""The Mil tall "If you Were on
council what would you do?" was
answered. The members were then
reminded to send their secret pal a
card and to bring the names of a
new family in town for the January
meeting.
The program consisted of a "Sto-
ry of a Christmas Guest" by Martha
Weigand. Kaethe Freiter gave the
'fto "Christmas ' 'stoms in Oth-
nds". A Christ„ las Day bingo
game was conducted by Martha
Weigand. Winners were Florence
Marlene and Dorothy Restemayer.
The rest of the evening was spent
Playing Progressive euchre. Win-
ners were Katharine Becker, Alice
Tiernan, Emil ieeker, Kaethe
Freiter, Ruth :Stije and Eben Wei-
gand.

Winter Hours
Exeter residents and contractors using the Exeter Landfill Site take note that the
landfill site will have reduced open hours for the winter months.
Beginning the week of December 13, 1993 until March 31, 1994 the landfill site
will only be open at the following times:
Monday - 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Thursday - 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Saturday - 8 a.m. until 12 noon
For the Christmas and New Year holidays, the landfill site will be closed on Mon-
day, December 27, 1993 and Monday, January 3, 1994. Instead, the landfill site
will be open on the Tuesdays following these holidays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
