Music was provided before the meal by the Jazz Band of South Huron Dis- trict High School, directed by Mr. R. Robilliard. President Roberta Walker welcomed staff, teachers, clients and their families to the 25th Anniversary Christmas Banquet. Rev. Henry Van Essen gave the Christmas message and led the blessing before the meal. The tur- key banquet was organized by the C.L.S.H. social committee and members were asked to bring des- serts. The Exeter Girl Guides cleared the tables after the meal. Board members Harry Klungel and Roberta Walker accompanied by the Thames Road Musical Guild, led everyone in a sing -song The 25th anniversary of Community Living South Huron was held Thursday night in Exeter. SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's Church held its service of Morning Prayer on Sunday at 8:30 a.m., Ad- vent II with 15 members present. The church was decorated for the Advent season. Cheryl Carroll, pia- nist, introduced a new hymn for the service. Rev. Stephen Emery talked to the children about the Advent Wreath and Candle and Harley Da- vis and Katie -Scarlett MacGillivray assisted with the lighting of the Ad- vent Candles; #1 for Hope, #2 for Peace. Centralia news CENTRALIA - A beautiful sun- ny Sunday, December 5 Wag the setting for the annual Centralia - Huron Park Christmas parade. Eighteen entries were in the parade. The parade proceeded through Cen- tralia to Huron Park and then to the Huron -Park Recreation Centre where the Centralia -Huron Park Li- ons Club served hot chocolate and snacks to the people who took part in the parade. Prizes were awarded to the fol- lowing entrants - First to the Huron Park Dance Club, second to the Maguire Family and third to Wayne Glanville Service Centre. Congratulations to the winners, to the parade organizers and entrants who took part in making this years parade a great success. The Stephen Fire Deparunent sponsored the can- dy bags given out to the children along the parade route. White Gift service was held at the Centralia United Church on Sunday with the Sunday school tak- ing charge of the service and also presenting the play entitled "A Dream Come True". During the service the Sunday School joined the adult choir to sing the anthem called "Ring the Bells". Ross McFalls and his friends provided music before the service. The Centralia United Church choir will be Christmas carolling this coming Thursday evening in the village. Anyone wishing to join the choir for the carolling are wel- comed and can meet the choir in the church basement at 7:30 p.m. Next Sunday, Holy Communion will be served at the Centralia Unit- ed Church at 11:30 a.m. Congratulations to Charles and Jeanette MacKinnon who celebrat- ed their 40th wedding anniversary on November 28 at the Centralia Community Centre. As pan of the 25th anniversary celebration, the original 198 exec- utive, founding members and past presidents were invited to be recog- nized for their years of contribu- tion: Ron G. Heimrich, president 1968, Ivan Sharrow, 1969; Walter Fydenchuk, 1970; Alma Godbolt, 1971; Case Van Raay, 1975; Anne Klungel, 1980-81; Herb Verbeek, 1982-83; ila Mathers, 1990; Rev. Henry Van Essen, 1991; and 1968 executive member Margaret Purdy. Presidents unable to attend were: Bob Southcott 1977-78; Roland McCaffrey, 1979; Richard Hucal, 1988; and Gail Little, 1989. Some presidents are deceased, but their achievements not forgotten: An- drew Blackwell, 1972-74; Jim Dal- ton 1984-85 and Victor Knip 1986- 87. Honorary Life Memberships were presented to Anne Cann, Don- na Greb, Ila Mathers and Gail Little for 10 years or more work on the Board of Directors and other com- minees. Ed Netherton and Collin Sims were given the Volunteer Ap- preciation Award for their work with the residents in the Exeter Group homes,' from house repairs, to outdoor activities to one on one time and friendship. John Gray awarded the stall rec- ognition for two to .five and 10 years of service in the Agency.
