But the visiting Seaforth Cente- naires bauled back from the deficit and the final result was a 4-4 OHA Junior Development League tie at the South Huron Recreation Centre. "You have to give Seaforth cred- it, they played well," said Exeter coach George Pratt. "We had times of brilliance but overall it was a 'go through the motions type of game." After Robinson soot, the Cen- tenaries Paul McLlwain went in alone to beat Chris Lyndon but with 49 seconds lett in the first pe- riod, Sean McCann was on the end of a nice behind -the -net pass frons Robinson. Early in the second period 'McLlwain used his speed, to tie it up. McLlwain had a very strong game for the visitors and nearly got the hat trick in the overtime but Ex- eter defenseman Mark Lynn man- aged to get back and stop a possible Junior 'D' goal. "The guys (Hawks) didn't have it tonight and we're out of shape," said Prau. Exeter went without playing a game for six nights and agaice this week have a long wait as they don't suit up again until Friday when they take on the visiting Lambeth Lancers at 8:30 p.m. In the second, Lynn came in and tucked the puck past Jamie Red- mond. However, ref- eree Jeff Smith said it was unseal. "1 couldn't tell one way or an- other. Our guys didn't seem to argue too much," said Prau. Timely goal: With nine seconds left in the second period, Hawks' rookie Mark Livermore stored off the faceoff to give the hosts a one goal cushion heading into the sec- ond intermission. There were very few penalties called in this game, even though both teams were quite physical. Smith handed out the first minor to Seaforth captain Karsten Carroll for roughing in the second. Seaforth's Ted Sills ripped a wrist shot over Lyndon's shoulder to tic it 3-3 five minutes into the third peri- od. It remained tied until Exeter's Ray Cousineau one -timed it past -.almond with 2:29 left in regula- tion time. The celebration on the Exeter bench was a short one as 24 sec- onds later Carroll let go with a shot from the point which snuck across the line. "Our forwards got in too deep," said Pratt of the Centenaries fourth goal. In overtime, .neither team scored .but Exeter had ;the ,best chance when Redmond shot the puck over the glass with 54seconds left in the five minute overtime :period and was given a delay olgame penalty.
