ZURICH - South Huron District
High School will be presenting a
pop concert in the large gym on
Sunday. Advance tickets are S2 or
$3 at the 'Woe Some tickets .can be
pun hawed at 236-4702 by Thurs-
day.
A Bean Festiva!appreciation din-
ner is being held at the Dominion
Tavern this Sunday. The dinner, for
those who helped at the last festi-
val, begins at 5 p.n1.
Anyone interested in suing the
Christmas Lights in Niagara Falls
on Dec. 5 is asked to phone Glen
Thiel at 236-4060 before Nov. 21.
The bus will leave from the Luther-
an Church and.the trip will include
a tour of a winery and a turkey din-
ner.
• Saturdays KYC harvest dance
had a good turnout. Many attending
helped Cindy Gelinas celebrate her
birthday with a decorated cake.
The Zurich fire fighters along
with their wives had a pre -
Christmas get-together and barbe-
cue supper at the fire hall on Satur-
day night. And a baseball banquet
and parry was also held recently at
the community centre.
Lucky winners at the Tea and
Bake sale held at the Bluewater Re-
• sthome on Saturday were: Mary
Gingerich who won the docoied
cake make by Mary- Lou Erb. The
crib quilt made by Ina Need went
to Dons Meyer of the Spruce Villa
apartments.
Tickets are still available on a
quilt that's on display at the home.
The draw will be made at the
home's family Christmas dinner on
Nov. 28.
Many CWL members from Zu-
rich and. aree.ettended_a -pot luck:
supper and social at the new parish
hall in the Immaculate Heart of
Mary Mitch in Grand Bend last
Tuesday. Quest speaker was GI-
selle Ireland from Teesewatcr.
An open house was held Sunday
for Pastor Stephen Alves and family
at St. Peters Lutheran Church hall.
A farewell dinner followed. They
are moving to Ottawa next week.

A surprise 70th birthday party
was held for Blanche Ducharme
Saturday night. Her husband Bill,
their eight children, spouses and
grandchildren were 1 nt.

daughter Jane and husband Sebas-
tian Scala. They attended the bap-
tismal of grandson Tristan-Joren
last Sunday.
Ken and Sylvia Miuleholtz and
their daughter Jennifer spent a few
days in Ottawa recently.
Several female relatives of Mar-
lene Bedard spent the weekend in
Woodstock for a family get togcth-

observe Remembrance Day
ZURICH -With much of the
world still immersed in bloody
conflicts, its easy to forget those
who gave their lives in defence of
their couney and the freedom we
all enjoy.
This is a time to remember. Fif-
ty diners and visitors met last
Wednesday to observe Remem-
brance day at the Community cen-
tre which was decorated with
crosses and poppies.
Gertie Fleischauer and Tammy
Antaya were in charge of the Re-
membrance Day service. "0 God
Our Help in Ages Past" was sung
with Audrey Haberer as pianist.
Everyone joined in reciting in
`Flanders Fields". Antaya read a
touching letter written by a sol-
dier to his Mom, while on active
duty in World War II.
Guest speaker John McAllister
representative of the Hensall Le
gion spoke on the Origin of the
Poppy. Randy Clarke a World
War Veteran for 5 1/2 years
placed the Memorial Wreath at
the Cross for those who gave their:
lives in World War n.
A moment of silence was ob-
served. Pat Skinner Exeter and Vi
Tinney who both served in World
War II had a very interesting dis-
play of Army Memoirs. God Save
the Queen was sung.

CLINTON - The Huron County
Secondary School concert bands
are presenting a night of music
many will not want to miss.
For the seventh year in a row the
concert bands of Clinton, Exeter,
Goderich and Wingham are busily
preparing for MUSICFEST. This
free evening of entertainment will
take place on November 18 at 7
p.m. in the CHSS auditorium.
As in previous yeas the concert
will showcase each of the high-
school bands and finish with an
awesome presentation of the
massed band of some 130 stu-
dents.
New to this year's program is the
All-Star band comprised of some
of Huron county's finest young
musicians. The All-Star band will
be directed by special guest con-
ductor Bruce Smith who will be
working with the musicians during
the "workshop" sessions on the
day of November 18 before the
concert.
