Her opening thought was on Remembrance Day and read "In Flanders Fields". The ladies sang "In Christ There is 'No East". Jean Duncan read from Romans 12:3-fi. Feme Stewart ted in prayer. A reading "Thoughts of Parents on Remembrace Day" and a reading "Quest for • Peace" were given by Karen. The group sang "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory". A reading from Mandate "Crea - tive Ways to Stewardship" by Etherington was about what the Port Stanley Church did for ste- wardship. A drama on stewardship • was presented by Jean Duncan, Jean Hodgen, Karen Etherington and Feme Stewart. Jean Hodgert gave a reading "The Dollar and The Cent". The roll call was answered by bringing a roll call for 1994. The women were asked to do a wedding meal and lunch next June. The U.C.W. is helping the Elim- ville group with the Co-op Banquet on November 26. It was approved that the U.C.W. pay for the painting of the church which will be finished in the sprang - A Stewardship and Finance Re- port was given by Marion Cann and a church in Society Report was giv- en by Lorraine Alexander. The group sang "Give to Us Laughter" and Judith closed with the benediction. Pumpkin pie and whipped cream with tea and coffee were served by Group W. The Silent Auction of many arti- .rles proved to be very successful • 4Nhich brought a very informative .sand interesting meeting to a close. Jim Alisop conducted the Remembrance Day church service Sunday morning. The Responsive Reading was "The Shepherd King" taken from Psalm,78. The people sang "0 Canada" and Rev. Alisop read In Flanders Fields and another Re- membrance Thought. Rev. Allsop also read the Scrip- ture Joshua 24:1-3, 14-25 and from the Gospel of Matthew 25:1-13. His sermon was entitled "A Parable of Preparation". The service was dosed with the singing of "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory". C6urcb 'news A men's breakfast will be held at Thames Road United Church on Saturday, November 20 at 8:30 a.m. The speaker will be Jim Pap - pie from Seaforth on the Food Gttins Bank. -Music service A Community of Churches Unit- ed In Faith church service on Sun- day evening was vary well attended with Thames Road Church almost filled. The choir had almost 40 voices. The service started at 7 p.m. with mine people in the orchestra, which included violins, guitars, and ban- jos accompanied by Jean Hodgert on the piano. They also accompa- nied for the sing song led by Doris Spence. Judy Milts welcomed eve- ryone and the service proceeded unannounced. The mass choir sang three an- thems accompanied by Jean Hod- gert on the organ and led by Gor- don Johnson. Verla Copeland accompanied,on the piano for o ne,of the hymns as did Gwen Christie. Mary Peterson-Essery gave the jlleaediction and Shirley Kerslake ave thecnice. They all have undergone Airtiery recently and all are home a A The annual general meeting of Epilepsy, Huron -Perth -Brute was held at Carmel Presbyterian Church in Hensall last Tuesday. Certificates were given out to volunteers and participants heard a lecture by Dr. Warren Blume.
