Frieda Bierling celebrated her103rdbirthday last mont
resident of the Exeter Villa, many townspeople will remem-
ber her and her husband Harry who operated the Hay Town-
ship Post Office for many years. Villa staff say she still en-
joys a good card game and is always happy to receive
visitors.

EXETER -441e Ceilidh Caravan-
ers are a group of people interested
in travelling and camping together,
on a designated trip and area. Or-
ganized by and under the leader-
ship of Carl and Jean Mills and Iry
and Lois Armstrong.
The group met at the Exeter Ma-
sonic Hall on Sunday afternoon for
a follow up of their August trip.
Members were there from as far
away as Tobermory, Alliston, Staf-
fa, London, Grand Bend, St. Mar-
ys, Parkhill, Exeter and area with
100 percent in attendance.
Jack McPhail of St. Marys
showed his video of the highlights
of the Caravan to the Atlantic
provinces, including the White
Mountains of New Hampshire,
Bus tours of Halifax and Peggy's
Cove, Louisburg Fort, villages,
museums, Cabot Trail, mines,
deep sea fishing on PEI etc.
After a pot luck supper many
photo albums were viewed and an-
other short video of Anita Riddell's
was shown.
The new and upcoming 1994
Caravan trips were explained and
discussed by the- directors and de-
cisions will be made on one of the
three - Circle Michigan the trip
covering the thumb and centre of
Michigan, Mackinaw Island, Soo,
Peteskey, Traverse City, Holland
etc.
"Dixie Doodle" - taking in Lex-
ington, Nashville, Georgia, Pigeon
Forge and Gatlinburg.
"Old and New Times" - Mark
Twain, Hannibal and Branston,

memory of Grace Kerslake, a life
member of the Staffa Women's In-
stitute, followed by a poem "The
Rose" read by Joyce Miller at the
October meeting of the Staffa
Women's Institute, Wednesday
Craft shows and sales
October 27.
Guests for the evening were Hel-
en Fell and Doris Jeffrey. They
took the group by picture and com-
mentary through several European
countries, France, Switzerland,
Holland, Germany, Belgium and
England. They had also brought
along many photos and momentos
to look at, There were introduced
and thanked by Margaret Daynard.
Roberta Templeman and Joyce
Miller reported on the London
Area Convention, held recently at
Mount Brydges. Margaret Day-
nard read a poem, When the Frost
is on the Pumpkin. Roll call -
Show an article from another
country and tell how you happened
to have it, was answered by 10
members and visitors. Verse Ma-
hon gave us several interesting and
helpful travel hints. Upcoming
courses were discussed, also the
Perth South District banquet which
Joyce Miller and Kay Smale will
attend.
Marjorie Drake is in charge of
the November meeting and mem-
'hers are asked to meet at the town-
?siip hail r1• p.m. on November
24.
A social hour followed with
Joyce Miller and Freda Kerslake in
charge.

The directors, Mills and Arm-
stnmgs thanked all for coming and
mentioned that since returning
home from the August trip alot of
interest has been shown in regards
to next years trips and to remem-
ber that only the first 20 to register
will be able to go and everyone is
welcome.
The evening closed with coffee
and lots of exciting conversation.
