Sara Wallis
It's been three years since Sara Wallis first heard about
Youth Involvement Ontario.
And since then, she has helped organize a branch of the vol
unteer program at South Huron District Hight School.
The Grand Bend resident explained that the program is
about helping students at the high school, who are labelled
with a disability, become more involved in social programs.
Volunteers help students with special needs attend activities
and interact with other students.
"People with labels want to be involved in social activities
too," the OAC.student said.
But school and this program are not the only activities Wal-
lis takes part in. She has been chairman of students against
drunk driving as well as volunteering at group homes in Exet-
er.

GRAND REND - The Lambton
Heritage Msueurn has developed a
new annual event to celebrate the
many architecturally unique and
fascinating homes of the Crand
Bend area. The Country Christmas
Home Tour, on November 13 and
14 will allow visitors to peruse
five exclusive private residences
not normally accessible to the pub-
lic. All of the homes on the tour
are fully deeked out for the holi-
days in Christmas finery and flow-
ers, and great decorating ideas, by
a design team of are interior deco-
rators and accessory specialists.
The interest in organizing the
Country Christmas Home Tour re-
flects the incredible building spurt
of new luxury homes that the
Lakeshore District of Bosanquct
Township has experienced over
the past decade. The tour will
highlight a full range of homes and
decorating styles, and so be able to
provide ideas adaptable to houses
large or small.
Many visitors to the Lake Huron
district are also curious about the
interiors of some homes when they
tour through subdivisions such as
Southcott Pines. This tour provides
a rare opportunity for the general
public to take in the interiors of
these same homes when they are
all decked out at their finest.
The tour mute passport may be
obtained at the Southcou Pines
clubhouse, located off 'of Lake-
view Ave at Highway 21, the
south entrance to Southcott Pines
subdivision. (Just follow the
signs). From there, the route map
and passport will guide you around
the subdivision in your own vehi-
cle to several stops. Some homes
are within easy walking distance
of each other.
