Parents have been donating old costumes for the event., which is a fundraiser for the Grand Bend Pub - Tic School Parents Association. Proceeds will go towards new play- ground equipment for the school - yard. "We thought maybe we could re- cycle some costumes," said McNeil. "Apparently the Huron Country Playhouse are doing some housecleaning as well." Old wardrobe items from the theatre will be added to the selec- tion, which aims at selling all cos- tumes for a standard fee of $5. The bazaar runs from 9:00 to 11:30 Saturday, which coincides with the Farmers Market on Grand Bend's Main Street and the Fall Colour Festival at the Lambton Museum near the Pinery. Thursday at county council, Goderich deputy -reeve Bill Clifford mil the motion and it was agreed upon by council with the only major opposi- tion corning from Exeter deputy -reeve Lossy Fuller. She said Exeter is opposed to the new proposed structure which would see only one representative from each of the 26 municipalities and of those, each would have only one vote. Fuller said there shout be a closer look taken at population and assess- ment of the municipalities. Huron County has been wrestling with the stricture for many months and several votes have been held on the issue. "It is time for a decision," said Clifford. "If it stays the same, it (council) will grow by three next year." He added that one vote per municipality would mean that councillors were working together in the best interest of the county. Under the current structure, there are 32 county councillors with two each from the townships of Goderich, Hay, Stanley and Stephen as well as the towns of Goderich and Exeter. For those which do have a deputy -reeve, they do so because their munic- ipality has a larger population. "Having sat here in the 70's when it (council) was larger,'ft\was too cum- bersome," said Clifford. Currently because of the size of Goderich, their reeve John Doherty has two votes, making a total of three for that town. "In Goderich's case, they won't have two votes. It will only be one," said Warden Tom Tomes of Stephen Township. On Thursday, county councillors had a plan of action they wanted to fol- low in regards to the structure and Tomes said that plan came from discus- sions at a recent Strategic Planning Session. "That's a benefit of having:heSvategic Planning Session," said Tomes. "There was a tot of controversy-invthe past," he said referring to the struc- ture. Huron County has both rural and urban municipalities which calls for different opinions on different issues. With the next municipal election just a year away, and the Private Bill which could take that long to go through, the county may simply have to stay the way it is which would mean the addition of three more members. - 1/ y • • . ,1 • • ,. w • • • • • • w kr .+ • • • • • • • • • • o • • • • e • • • • OOOOOOO • • • • •• • • • • • • • • • • t • • •awn • • b • • • • • • • • • e • • • • •• • • • • IIVAINWESIVriti 441Fri ‘19140101141 41;1FL:104101 latlirEi quality, mount on #fie ane firms for value and service To advertise our business call 235-1331 •• Or, ••••••• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • t• • • * as W H VA - • • • 44 • • • • • 0 0 • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • DRiFTJNG DRA1 IG PLANS FOR: --New Homes -...iitnoontions '\/" O -•-Additions —Fireplaces --Beck's, Patios •-•.Garages, Etc.
