Precious Blood news
McDonald/Flnkbelner
Anita Finkbeiner and Bill
McDonald were united in mar-
riage on September 11,
1993 at Crediton United
Church with Rev. Ed Laksma-
nis officiating. The bride is
the daughter of Eric and Thel-
ma Finkbeiner, Crediton and
the groom is the son of Cliff
and Elsie McDonald, Exeter.
Matron of Honour was Karen
Jones, friend of the bride and
groom. Bridesmaids were
Rhonda Vandeworp, cousin of
the bride, Wendy Ballantyne,
Myla Dykstra and Rhonda
Lightfoot, all friends of the
bride and groom. Flowergirls
were Amber Lord, cousin of
the bride, and Christina Hog
gait, neice of the groom. Best
man was Brent McDonald,
brother of the groom. Groom-
smen were Bob McDonald,
brother of the groom, Jeff
VanHaarlem, Mark Stephen
and Todd Jones, all friends of
the groom and bride. Jeremy
and Dwayne Finkbeiner, broth-
ers of the bride, perfonned
the candle lighting as well as
helping usher. Solos were
performed by Ansberth Wil-
ler, Anne Walper and Jay Al -
blas. Accompanying them on
the piano was Erin Kraft -
check. Master of Ceremonies
at the reception following the
wedding was Mike Dykstra.
Bill and Anita want to thank
everyone who joined them on
their special day. You helped
to make so many wonderful
memories that will be cher-
ished for a lifetime.
Exeter RICAN
EXETER - The Presbyterian
Church Women held their monthly
meeting on Monday evening Octo-
ber 4.
President Donna Webster, wel-
comed everyone with a reading.
The devotional was taken by Ma-
bel Stanlake, Edna Simmons and
Betty Symthe and the theme was
"God's Love, Like a Circle, has no
Beginning and no End."
This was followed by the busi-
ness part with Hazel Pryde reading
the minutes and our president re-
porting some announcements.
Guest speaker was Gwen Whil-
smith, who gave a very informative
talk.
"We're back!" The students of Precious Blood
are back for another year. This year 17 new stu-
dents have joined our school. We also have a new
part time teacher in grade 5/6 named Mrs. Tim-
mermans. The teaching staff at Precious Blood
consists of ten teachers.
We welcome the Hunter family, the Edwards
family, the Brolly family, the lordann family and the Mclean family, to
the school.
Interview with a New Student: Michael Jordann
NP: Where are you from?
MJ: London.
NP: What is it like to come to a new school?
MJ: Weird.
NP: Why?
MJ: Because there are new people and new teachers to meet.
NP: What do you think of this school?
MJ: The school is smaller and there are less students.
NP: Have you made any new friends?
MJ: Yes, a few. -
NP: Do you think this year will be difficult for you?
MJ: I don't know.
On September 22, Precious Blood held its annual Meet the Teacher
night. Every year they hold a night where parents can come and meet
the teachers and the family can enjoy a dinner put on by the PTA. The
parents are also invited to look through the classrooms and see what
school work their children have been doing. For dinner you could get
either pizza or chili. If -you ordered the meal then ybu would get your
choice of pizza or chili, Caesar salad, an apple and juice or coffee. Af-
ter everyone had -eaten there was a meeting in the gym for all of the
parents. At the meeting the staff of Precious Blood was introduced to
the parents and they talked about the upcoming year.
On September 20-24 Precicfus Blood school had a book fair. At the
book fair students and teachers could buy books. The book fair was
also open on Meet the Teacher night so parents could buy books too.
The book fair was sponsored by Scholastic. The book fair made
$858.52. Congratulations to Mrs. Kerslake for winning the draw worth
$20 in free books.
Exeter Seniors meet
EXETER - The October meeting
of Exeter Seniors was held at the
Legion Hall. The fall Rally is to be
held Wednesday, October 20 at
Londsborough.
The Seniors Christmas supper
will be catered to by the Legion
Auxiliary on December 6. Tickets
will be sold at the November meet-
ing.
Shirley and Ted Wright and
Marion Frayne and Bernice Coop-
er are helping with Bingo at the
Villa on October 25.
Hubert and Bernice Cooper
chaired the Program, Peter Snell
and Doug Insley played several
musical numbers on guitar and
mouth organ.
Elaine and Glenn Cooper of
Hensall performed a comical skit.
The theme of the November meet-
ing is Remembrance; remember to
bring a friend.
