The trail class was .won by Steve Hendrick of Crediton and second was Kate McKenzie of Mitchell. The Command Class was won by I3onje Baker of liderton and sand was Kate McKenzie. GRANTON - There was no service at the St. Thomas' Anglican Church on Sunday, September 26 because of the Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Patrick's; Saintsbury for the parish. The Rev. Stephen Emery celebrat- ed the Holy Eucharist and his message was about the changes on life's journey when God is ever near. A time of fellowship followed. Norman Hodgins returned home on Sunday following several weeks in Victoria Hospital, London for heart surgery. The Fish Pry at the Masonic Hall on Sunday evening was a very popular event. Congratulations from the community to Gina Shearme and Chris Lup- son who were married at the bride's home by Pastor Douglas Loveday on Saturday, September 25. A reception and dinner followed at the Granton Country Store and a dance at the Masonic Hall. Muriel Lewis enjoyed several days last week at Stanton House on Spar- row Lake near Orillia with the Bryanston Friendship Club. At the Granton United Church on Sunday, Pastor Normatie Voakes chose "the Touchstone" as her sermon topic. The lessons were from Exo- dus 17, Philippians 2 and Matthew 21. The ministry of music by the choir was an anthem "Jesus and Me". Following the service Unit 2 of the UCW served a poor boy spaghetti dinner. - ZURiCH - Monday afternoon the residents of Blue Water Rest Home gathered in the auditorium to watch the movie "Go West" Tuesday afternoon Kurt Gebel, Bernice Kennedy, Catherine Riehl, Susan Leslie, Edna Johnston, -Annie Martin, Margaret Snell and Joe Kends took a bus trip via Holmes- ville to Goderich to view the town and beach area. The residents en- joyed looking at the good corn and bean crops along the route, and those premature leaves turning their .autumn shades. The Warden, along with other dignitaries including the Huron County Board of Education, the Huron Perth Separate School Board and the Ministry of Educa- tion, will be on hand to receive the children and mark the beginning of a new era for the Children's Aid So- ciety of Huron County. The ceremony, which stars at 11 a.m. on October 6, marks the start of the fundraising campaign to complete the construction of the new CAS building. GRANTON - There was no service at the St. Thomas' Anglican Church on Sunday, September 26 because of the Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Patrick's; Saintsbury for the parish. The Rev. Norman Hodgins returned home on Sunday following several weeks in Victoria Hospital, London for heart surgery. The Fish Pry at the Masonic Hall on Sunday evening was a very popular event. Following the service Unit 2 of the UCW served a poor boy spaghetti dinner. - ZURiCH - Monday afternoon the residents of Blue Water Rest Home gathered in the auditorium to watch the movie "Go West" Tuesday afternoon Kurt Gebel, Bernice Kennedy, Catherine Riehl, Susan Leslie, Edna Johnston, -Annie Martin, Margaret Snell and Joe Kends took a bus trip via Holmes- ville to Goderich to view the town and beach area.
