Alan came to Port Albert with the
RAF to help start the Empire Air
Training Scheme.• He returned to
Britain in December 1943 in order
to take pan in the invasion of Eu-
rope in June 1944.
Since the war ended' Alan and
Audrey have returned to Canada
many times for holidays: and when
they both retired from 'work ful-
filled their life's ambition to spend

Stucky view the
dozens of quilts on
display at the
Lambton Museum
last week. Behind is
the controversial quilt
made from a
captured Nazi flag.
The quilt includes the
names of the
regiment of First
Hussars. "Some feel
the names circling I
the swastika are n.
symbolic of the 1st

the Nazis," reads the
explanation below c

Normal healthy people should consume no more
than 2000 mg of sodium per day. To give you an
idea what that amounts looks like, it's about one
teaspoonful of salt. Sodium is found In many foods
and medications so make a habit of reading the
fine print before yoe: buy.
'White -coat hypertension-, is a condition in which a person's blood
pressure seems to be higher when tested in the•doctor's office. It might
be an idea to purchase one of those home blood pressure kits to see if
you are suffering from this syndrome.
Kool Aid to diagnose ulcers? Evidently the patient drinks about a half li-
tre of Kool Aid (containing 100 mg of sugar). The amount of sugar in the
urine is measured after 30 minutes. Since sugar Is not normally ab
sorbed via the stomach, unless the stomach lining is traumatized, high
urine levels of•sugar means ulcers might be present.
Older persons are more susceptible to food poisoning than younger
ones, due to weakened immune systems and reduced stomach acid
production which limits ability to kill food bacteria.
We believe that choosing your pharmacist is as important as'choosing
your doctor. Face to face communication with your pharmacist will en
hone your understanding of the medications you are taking. Let gig
