HENSALL - Summer ends with a bang at Queens-
way! Regardless of the cooler weather we have experi-
enced over the last three weeks, residents have been
busy having serious fun!
Summer ended with a big bang during the Ice Cream
Social. The dining room was re -decorated as an old ice
cream parlour complete with music, pictures on the
wall, and a help -yourself ice cream bar. People were
creating their own sundaes with real maple syrup, co-
conut, chocolate chips, whipped cream etc.
The Thursday afternoon barbecues have been taking
place every week indoors. Last week was seafood lov-
ers' barbecue day and many residents tried shrimp for
the very ftrst time in their lives!
Thursday, September 16 was Hat Day, and it was a
great success. Almost everyone wore a hat. Everything
from bridal head pieces to door decorations were worn
on people's heads. The afternoon was filled with hat
fun festivities such as: hat toss, hat trivia, and hat sto-
ries.
Several of the woman at Queensway have been very
busy making crafts for the upcoming .annual Craft and
Bake Sale, which will sake place October 20. Fall bin-
go has also started up again, and many people are ex-
cited about their weekly game.
