THAMES ROAD - Rev. Charles
Henderson was in charge of the
church service on Sunday morning
owing to the absence of Rev. Jim
Allsop who underwent surgery last
Tuesday. The congregation sang
the children's hymn "What a Friend
We Have in Jesus" and Rev. Hen-
derson told the children's story
"The Spider's Web".
The choir sang "Whither Thou
Goest I Will Go" accompanied by
the organist Jean Hodgert.
Erin Parker read Matthew 9:1-8,
Vanessa Bray read Mark 6:47-51;
Kristy Bray read John 16:32-33;
Megan Parker read Acts 23:10-11,
and Robyn Etherington read Acts
27:22-25.
Rev. Henderson's sermon was en-
titled "Be of Good Cheer".
The Official Board Meeting will
be held on Wednesday, September
29 at Elimville.

EXETER - The first meeting of
the fall season of Exeter Seniors
was held at the Legion hall with a
pot -luck ,tipper followed by the
regular ng.
The Fall Rally is to be held in
Londesborough on October 20 with
games, prizes and draws. A group
was named to help with Bingo at
the Villa the last Monday of the
month.
George Godbolt and family enter-
tianed with songs and musical num-
bers. A singsong was held with
George at piano.
The meetings of Seniors are held
at the Legion !Re first Tuesday of
every month.

ing with Glen and June Stewart for

on Sunday at the church in honour

word that their aunt Ruth Wakem
had passed away. They called at the
Funeral Home in Si Marys on Sun-
day and also attended her funeral

the Zurich Bean Festival is invit-
ed to a barbecue on Thursday at
6:30 p.m., at the home of Marg
and Claire Deichert, RR 1 Zurich.
Bring your own lawn chairs.
A PTA meeting will be held at
St. Boniface School next Wednes-
dayat7:30p.m.
Coming events
Zurich public School will hold a
Terry Fox walk or run around the
school grounds on Thursday
while St Boniface students will
hold theirs on Friday.
The proceeds will go towards
the big event to be held on Sun-
day at the Otto Community Cen-
tre park beginning at 1:30 p.m. A
barbecue will follow.
The Golden Agers had their
first meeting on Monday begin-
ning with a pot luck dinner.
The drop-in centre is open eve-
ry Monday aftemoon at 12:45
p.m., at the Township Hall for
line dancing and cards. From

meeting of September last
Wednesday with a dinner at the
Dominion Tavern.
The ladies Auxiliary of the Blue
