HANOVER - Despite being a
first year midget baseball team, the
Exeter Riverview Estates Midgets
have finished their season with a
16-17-1 record which was owed
off with a trip to the Ontario Base-
ball Association championship
tournament.
During the Labour Day weekend,
Exeter travelled to Hanover where
they managed to win one of the
three games they played.
Seven errors hurt Exeter as they
lost 14-5 to Dresden in the opener.
Dwayne McNab started on the
mound, working into the sixth
frame when • he was replaced by
Darryl Hartman.
Exeter left the bases loaded three
times and on the game, left a total
of 18 runners stranded. Offensive-
ly, Jeff Glavin had a triple with sin-
gles off the bats of Bill Hodge,
Hartman, Darren Kints and Adam
Dousky.
ricer Pir 'earl
Hartman went the distance on the
mound allowing just four hits in
front of a defense that made no er-
rors.
The lefthander helped himself at
the plate as he clubbed a double
and a single while Aaron Bayer,
Kints and Trevor Taylor had base
hits. Taylor eine up with the wirl-
ping-rbi iinn ,the seventh.

Hard-hitting'Hanover got to t-
er pitchers 'McNab, Glavin and
Kints in a game which once again
saw Exeter make several errors.
At the plate, Glavin had a triple,
Hodge added a double and base hits
came from Hartman, Kints, Taylor
and McNab.
