Marty DeBruyn got things started in the second half when he found the open net after a collision be- tween the goalkeeper and Henri DeBruyn. Exeter controlled the play in the second half not allowing Croatia to mount any attack. Memorial Shoot held at Kippen Gun Club K1PPEN - Fifty-five shooters were on -hand for. the 16th Kyle - Cooper Memorial shoot on Sunday at the.Kippen Gun Club. Finishing the 100 bird event with scores of 99's in 'A' class wereBrad Mann, Tom Knight; Ray Cockburn and Bill Wylie. A shoot -off was held in which Brad Mann emerged the winner with a perfect score of 25. Tom Knight and Bill Wylie each hit 24 to .remain tied for runnerup, while Ray Cockburn shot a 23. Knightand Wylie shot again each hitting .24 : once again. In the next shoot off Knight was victorious hit- ting>a 25 -to'IWylie's.24, taking the 'A':run neruptitle. In '$' -.class Frank Stronak -was champion with a 93 while Pete Weiler was-ntnnerup•wilh 92. Two shooters tied in 'C class with scores of 89. OASA Imperials take early ,exit from tcurnament TAVISTOCK --A. few good moments spaced too far apart meant two quick losses for the Exeter Chrysler Imperials at the Ontario Amateur Softball Assoniationlaen's'C' tournament in Tavistock on the weekend. Exeter dropped ;an.11-5 opener to Glencoe Friday night and then the next afternoon came up short 4-3 to Lambeth. Against Glencoe; Exeter pitcher Dan Heywood could not fight off the heat as he gave up one run in the first inning, three in the second and three more in the third. Steve Cook came on in relief in the fourth and after loading the bases managed to get three out to leave all three runners stranded. There were a few bright spots including a Mike Neil solo homer pver the centrefield fence in the second inning and Exeter centre fielder Sandy Hyde had a second inning single and a.home run in the sixth. Exeter's bats came to life in the bottom of the fifth as Mike Desjardine and Jeremy Brock singled and both scored on Heywood's base hit. Hey- wood came home on Darren Neil's triple. Cook gave up two runs in the fifth and on the night had four strikeouts. Lambeth 4. Exete( 3 Exeter hit the ball hard and Heywood pitched a good game but it just wasn't enough against Lambeth on Saturday afternoon. First baseman Kevin Lightfoot had a single and a double and Desjardinc connected with a second inning homer. The Imperials scored one run in the second and two in the seventh.
