Bean
Festival
draws
large
crowds

ZURICH - Another Bean Feati-
val has come and gone with great
success.
A lot of people were in town to
take part in all the activities which
began with a pancake breakfast
followed by bean dinners and enter-
' tainment throughout the day. The
festival ended with a dance at
night.
Winners of the quilt draws were:

Boldface CWL quilt; Dorothy
Coombs, of Kincardine and Sharon
Robison, of London, won prizes.

Brian Geoffrey, of Detroit spent
the weekend at the .Bean festival
and visiting his parents, Clarence
and Beatie Geoffrey.
Also in town for .the festival was
Beth Sweeneyand friends.
Farewell .to Elroy and Myraline
Deajardine who have moved to Ex-
eter.
Recent guests at the home of Se-
leda Steckle were daughters Esther
and Fexne Muman, of Ohio. Also
visiting was Mary Henderson, of
Halifax. They auended .the Steckle
family reunion of August 14 and
spent the next day at Paul and Ka-
thy Steckle's busy with birthday
celebrations involving the family.
Special recognition was given to
their mother, Stieda, who will to
celebrating her 85th birthday on
Thursday. Her daughter Esther cel-
ebrated her 50th birthday on Sun-
day.
Celebrating birthdays on Monday
were Karen Schenk and Carmel
Sweeney.
A family gathering was held for
Oliver Meneroud, of France, at the
home of Joe and Joanne Bengough,
of Hensall. Meneroud has spent the
past six months living at.the housc
n of Beuy and Alphonse Grenier, of
Hensall while he was working at
the Big O.
