W 0 W program winds down
WOW program -graduates can relax now that they have put in a hectic summer working
qt various buisnesses throughout the Exeter area. Hopefully the skills and training they
obtained at through this program will help them obtain the carrer they are looking for.

Five accidents reported by
Ontario Provincial police
EXETER - Drivers received mi-
nor injuries after a Friday afternoon
collision at the intersection of
Highway 83 and Concession 2-3 of
Stephen Township. The Exeter
OPP report that a vehicle driven by
Julie Uniac of Grand Bend crossed
the highway into the path of an-
other vehicle driven by Elaine
Hobbs of London.
Both drivers and a passenger
were taken to hospital for treatment
of minor injuries.
On Thursday afternoon, a car
driven by Cameron Eveland of Ex-
eter struck a vehicle driven by Mi-
chael Porter of Grand Bend in Cre-
diton. No injuries were reported.
All drivers escaped injury in a
three car accident on Highway 4
north of Exeter early Wednesday
afternoon. Police say a vehicle
driven by Minnie Hibbard of Lon-
don struck the rear of a car driven
by Jeffrey Keller of Exeter, who
was in tum pushed into the rear of a
vehicle driven by Douglas Kirby of
Sarnia. Kellet and' Kirby were
stopped at a stop light on the high-
way at the bridge reconstruction
north of. Exeter.
Also last Wednesday morning, a
vehicle driven by Arnold Westlak-
en of Tuckersmith Township failed

injuries. Westlaken was later
charged with failing to stop.
Just after midnight last Wednes-
day, police were called to a single
vehicle accident on Highway 84. A
car driven by Christopher Keller of
Dashwood went out of control and
entered the ditch. Keller was treat-
ed for minor injuries at South Hu-
ron Hospital.
Receive belts
These are not quite karate experts but are moving up the
line. The karate students showed their style and new belts
last Tuesday, during practice at Exeter Public School. From
left: Rachael McPherson and her sister Anne received their
green belts, Melissa Golan, a yellow, and Jane McPherson, a
blue belt. They are part of a group studying under instructor
Brian Decker.

President says thanks

Dear Editor.
On behalf of -Community -Living: -South Huron, I
would like to thank all the captains, volunteers, staff
and all those who cont:rlbuted.their time, money and
shoe leather to our May Flowers of Hope Campaign
fora 1993. Some contributions continued to come in
throughout June, helping us to exceed our goal of
$20,000 with a total of $21,148 collected.
The canvass area included Centralia, Exeter,
diton, Dashwood, Egmondville, Hensall, Zt
Grand Bend, Huron Park and Seaforth toad Hay.

ships.
We are grateful fbr such support in tbese • finan-
cially troubled -times, as wetry to assist -people who
are developmentally handicapped to live useful and
satisfying lives.

entertained
ZURICH - Last Tuesday evening
Zurich Mennonite Church visited
Blue Water Rest Home and enter-
tained the residents for their August
birthday party. Those celebrating
another year young were Ellen
McGonigal, Elizabeth Lawerence,
Adeline Denomme, Audrey Gra-
ham, Margaret Snell and Percy
Campbell.
Ruth Siebert was chairperson for
the evening. Norma Granger and
Viola Ramer read poems. Wini-
fred Hutton and Ruth Sibert sang
duets while Grace Martin played
keyboard.
The residents were rolling in the
aisles with a skit provided by Hen-
drina Erb, Kathy Steckle, Grace
Martin and Delores Gingerich.
Cake and refreshments were served
by Home Auxiliary member Mar-
lene Gingerich and the attending
church members.
Rev. Philip Bender, Zurich Men-
nonite Church conducted Thursday
afternoon's Chapel Service. Fr.
Matthias Wronski, St. Boniface
Church, Zurich celebrated Mass.
