Crimes of the week
The Exeter OPP and Crime Stoppers are looking for the thief or
thieves who broke into the Tenderspot Freshmart in Zurich in the
early hours of May 4, 1992. Someone pried the lock off the front
door, and once inside stole 300 cartons of various brands of Canadi-
an cigarettes. The thieves may have stolen a large tarp from a boat
next to the store to use in the cigarette theft.
Wheels stolen: Overnight on May 12-13 of 1992, new cement
blocks were used to hold up two trucks when eight tires and rims
were removed from two 1500 series pickup trucks parked at the
Frayne Chev-Olds dealership in Exeter. Removed were eight P225/
75R 15 -inch Uniroyal Tiger Paw all -season tires with white lettering
and mounted on cast aluminum rims.
Break in: Police are also seeking information about a break, enter
and theft in Stanley Township between July 5 and 15 this year. A
house at Lot 5 Concessicn 7 of the township was broken into. Sto-
len were one 900 -watt Tappan microwave oven, a new blue -
coloured battery charger still in its box, and one four slice toaster
and 11 cans of Labatt's 50 ale.
If anyone has information about these or other crimes, call Crime
Stoppers of Huron County at 1-800-265-1777 and you could be eli-
gible for a reward of up to $1,000. You will not have to reveal your
identity at any time.
