Lucan on the weekend. The

Tournament draws 20 arm wrestlers
HURON PARK - Twenty arm
wrestlers converged on the Alba-
tross Tavem on Saturday after-
noon to take part in what hopes to
bean annual event.
Competing in six different divi-
sions, both men and women went
arm -to -arm for the inaugural pres-
entation of the plaques.

"One foot has to be on the floor
at all times," said referee Jim Park-
er just prior to the start of the
matches.
In eotplaining the rules, Parker
said the :maximum time for the
match was two minutes and if
there was no winter as that time,
they would break and begin again.
The idea,of this sport _is .to sim-
ply get your .opponents arm .to
bend towards yours without your
arm.coming off -limped.
"If your elbow conies off the pad
twice, you? disqualified," said
Parker.
Although some divisions only
had three entrants, a person could
not win by just winning once, they

Jack Forrester:of Zurich was the
big winner.as •he .took home first
place in both.the men's 151 to 175
pound class and :the 116 to 200
pound division.
Tracey lebretton was the winner
of the ladies division 'while Ron
Coolman took the men's .200 and

vincial finals August 21-22 in
Woodstock for novice bowlers.
In ladies novice competition,
both Exeter teams were elimi-
nated in close fought competi-
tion. The team of June Hodgson,
Audrey Burrows and Marg
Deichert put out Andrew Wei-
gand, Jacklyn Wright and Laura
Pearson on Saturday but lost to
Stratford in the final 14-10 on
Sunday.
