Mom's are re- minded to enter their babies in the baby show, Free gifts will be given to all entrants. Port Blake Circus The Circus is coming to the Port Blake conservation area (north of Grand Bend on Hwy. 83) on Wednesday July 28. Two shows are scheduled, one at 4:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. This event is being sponsored by the Grand Bend and area Chamber of Commerce. - Wonderland Trip The Zurich Optimists Club are sponsoring a bus trip to Toronto to go to Canada's Wonderland, on Sunday August 8. The bus will leave at 8:00 a.m. and the cost is 20.00 for the ride and admission. If interested call' Shannon Smale at 236-4977 A.S.A.P. Chicken Barbeque The Zurich Mennonite church will be hosting a chicken barbeque on July 15 at the Zurich Mennonite church from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Seyler's, C.G. Farm Supply, or Huron Ridge Flowers. Several children enjoyed going to the vacation Bible school last week. It ended with a program for the par- ents that was held at the public school Friday night. , Personals The family of Nora Corriveau hold .their -annual family reunion on July 112t the Dashwood Communi- tyCaure, with 41 relatives in atten- dance. Nata's daughter Theresa is presently -visiting -the area for a few days. Harold and Doreen Dietrich along with Randy, Marlene and Kevan Dietrich spent the week in Capk- chin, at a cottage. Andre, Howald, Sandra, and Cas- sidy Romain from Toronto spent Thursday with their grandmother Veola Wood. The-Memer family held their 41st family reunion on Sunday at the Black -Bush schoolhouse. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family of theiate Paul Cyr who passed away on July 11. Congratulations to Joseph Hen- driks and Theresa McCarter who 68th annual Hodgert reunion held THAMES ROAD = The 68th an- nual reunion of the.,Hodgert clan was held on Saturday:1u the Com- munity Park in Dashwood. Seven- ty-one people attended for the noon meal and 87 were counted at supper. Prizes were given out for the closest birthday to the picnic to Bernice Matheson; the youngest person attending, Paige Bennett; and the person from the farthest distance was Dorothy Donaldson from Victoria BC, Diane Ellis guessed the correct number of Smarties in a bag (126) and John Miner guessed the correct weight of a watermelon (16 1/2 lbs.) It was agreed to hold the next years picnic in Dashwood. Every- one was reminded to bring their recipes next year to be compiled into a recipe book in celebration of the 70th anniversaty in 1995. Granton by Muriel Lewis GRANTON - The 30th annual beef barbecue sponsored by the St. Thomas' Anglican Church at the Communitypark on Thursday eve- ning, July 7 as well attended and quite successful. A number from the Granton area also enjoyed the Middlesex Pork Producers barbecue at Poplar Hill on Thursday evening with enter- tainment by the Paul Brothers and Shirley. There was no service at the St. Thomas' Anglican Church on Sun- day as the rector is on vacation for the month of July.
