HURON PARK - Children of
various ages will be encour-
aged to read this summer. Traci -
Tryon is the Reading' program
coordinator at Centralia Cul -
lege for the 1993 summer ses-
sion. The program is designed
for children aged four to seven.
Its goal is to develop and main-
tain children's interest in read-
ing and to promote agriculture.
The program's goals will be
fulfilled by reading stories to
children, requesting children to
join in or read on their own,
and by encouraging children to
use their imagination to create
their own stories. As well, oth-
er reading -related materials will
be incorporated into the pro-
gram, for example, puppets,
games and felt boards. The
theme is agriculture, and topics.
will include animals, farming,
and nutrition.
From July 5 to August 25
Tryon can be found outdoors
near a yellow and white
stripped beach umbrella. She
will visit libraries, community
pools, day camps, and play-
grounds in Huron, Perth and
North Middlesex counties.
There is no charge to partici-
pate in these reading sessions.
The program is funded by
Canada Employment and Im-
