Rebekah Assembly holds sessions �i
TORONTO - Last Sunday after-
noon, Helen Coates and Jean 'Hod-
gen, Past Noble Grands of Pride of
Huron Rebekah Lodge, Exeter,
travelled to the Royal York Hotel
in Toronto, to attend the three-day
sessions of the Rebekah Assembly
of Ontario.
They, along with 1,000 other
members of the Order, attended Di,
vine Worship in the Ball Room,
followed by the Reception for Vio-
la '1iiigs%of'Ildertort.'the President
,bf:lite'Relsekah Maentbly of Onta-
rio.
On'Weeneaday, morning, the rep-
.ruives from this district took
lean Thdgert to'breakfast, and pre-
nted her with a corsage of red
'roses, upon her election to the of -
lice of 'District Deputy President
for Huron district 23. Hodgert re-
ceived her commission, and along
with 40 sisters from Ontario lodges,
was received in the Auditorium as
District Deputy Presidents, as Shei-
la Halsall of Kingston was installed
into the chair as President of the
Rebekah Assembly for 1993-94,
along with her officers. Ray Cann,
Junior Past Noble Grand of the Ex-
eter 1.O.O.F. attended the Sessions
of the Grand Lodge of Ontario
from Wednesday until Friday, and
he, along with Hodgert and Coates,
attended the Banquet for the Order
on Wednesday evening.
On Monday evening, the Rebe-
kah Degree was conferred on nine'
candidates, by officers of district 't
#333. and Lois McFalls had the ti
honour of acting Inside Guardian
for the Degree,
Percy and Jean Noels were in To-
ronto for the week, attending ses-
sions of various branches of the Or-
der.

The Thursday afternoon class of the Toddler's inn Nursery
School graduated with special buttons marking the Nursery
School as the top fundraiser in Canada in the Muscular Dys-

Baptismal service
performed in Varna

VARNA - The Varna Churck . Annual Pork Barbecue was held last
Wednesday.
At Varna Church on Sunday (Father's Day) two babies were received
into the Christian churchuh infant baptism. Kimberly Gayle Consist,
daughter of Brenda and Scoft!'and Jason William John Dowson, aon.of
Gayle and John were baptised with Rev. Phillips performing the ceremo-
ny. Bill Taylor, Clerk of the Session presented them with their baptismal
Certificates and Joyce Dowson, President of the Varna U.C.W. and grand-
mother of both babies had the pleasure of presenting them with a rose.
The Dowsons and Consists then had a family gathering following church.
Rev. Phillips announced that a community worker from Waky Tiyo,
will be at the home of Art and Jean Bennett, Thursday, Junc 24. This is •
theicommunity where the water pump was installed by People of London
Conference and blue bird boxes were built and sold to help support this
project. Anyone who wishes to meet him, please bring something for a pot
luck supper about 6:30 0p.m. All welcome! e -
A very successful Flowers of Hope Campaign resulted in $2613.75 in
Stanley Township.
The Stanley Bantam Girls participated in a baseball tournament in St.
Pauls on Saturday. They beat Tavistock 7-5 and lost to St. Pauls 8-3 and
were "A" ru ritp finalists.
