G\o�a ° s� EXETER - On May 3, the grade 1/8 class went to
a - so the Museum of Archeology in London because they
i2 had been studying natives and archeology this term.
J. l Thye made Indian pottery, watched a film and re-
4L�" ceived a tour of the museum.
FxeTf� On May 4, Denise Kelly, former member of the Ca-
nadian Bicycle Team visited our school to talk about the importance of
bicycle helmets and bicycle safety.
On May 7, the Precious Blood School had its third annual writer's
fair. Gay Allison, a poet, came to sham some of her work and talked
about how she became a poet. There was a book display of the students
published books which they wrote themselves.
On May 13, we had "T-shirt Day". Students and teachers wore their
t -shirts which were judged by: most wording, most unique and most
colourful.
On the week of May 17, we had our annual book fair. We sold a total
of S1,222.73 in books and we were able to keep 55 percent of the
amount above in free books. The books are being placed in the class-
rooms and the library. A very special thank you to the P.T.A. for their
generous donation of $400.00.
On May 18, the grade 2-4 classes went to Wildwood Conservation
Area for a pond study. They visited the pond, stream and marsh. They,
also studied plants and animals and looked at living organisms which
they collected and classified. At the end of the day they visited frog
city where they collected live frogs.
On May 19, the P.T.A. sponsored an end of the year barbeque where
parents had a chance to browsethrough the book fair, talk to other par-
ents and make new elections for next year's executive.
On May 25, the grade 3-8 classes went to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
School to view the play performed by the Erewhon Theatre entitled
"The Secret Garden."

SAINTSBURY - The St. Pat-
rick's A.C.W. hosted a most suc-
cessful dessert euchre and bake sale
on Tuesday, June 15 with 11 tables
of euchre. Winners were: ladies
high - Verna Ibbitson, mens high -
Marg Young playing man's card,
ladies lone hands - Doris Haekney,
men's lone hands - Tom Emery, la-
dies low - Katie Sentjens, men's
low - Jim O'Shea, Grocery Box
winners, Marg Young and Evan
Hodgins.

ricks Sunday, St. Thomas's, Gran-
ton were celebrating their Anniver-
sary Service.
Sunday, June 27, 'fit. - Patrick's
will celebrate the service of Holy
Communion at 11:00 a.m. Scripture
readings are to be Genesis 32:22-
32, 2nd Romans 6:3-11; Respon-
sive reading Psalm 17:1-7:16. The
'Holy Gospel Matthew 10:34-42.
The St. Patrick's Euchre and
Crockinole Party and Silent Auc-
tion fundraiser will be held at the
Parish Hall, Friday, June 25 at 7:30
p.m. Items include a T-shirt, a
flower arrangement, towels by Wa-
verley, pine plate rack, patio door
kicks, towel holder, scarf and ear-
ring set, men and ladies fragrance
sets, cleaning and baby sitting ser -
aces, old Bible and books, toilet
seat and many more items too nu-
merous to mention. Lunch to fol-
low.

house at Holy Trinity Anglican rec-
tory, Chesley, Ontario, Sunday af-
ternoon, July 4. Church service at
the Anglican Church at Tara, Onta-
rio, 10:00 a.m.
Michael and Suzanne Davis par-
ticipated in the "Ride for Sight" to
Fenlon Falls on the weekend. Crys-
tal, Harley, Travis and Starr visited
with Mary, Jennette and Sarah
Walker.

tion at South Huron Rec Cen-
tre, the couple honeymooned
in Las Vegas • and now reside
in Exeter.

The top three architectural models from the grade 12 drafting class at South Huron District
High School receive annual awards from the school. This year, Steve Farquhar (left), Shawn
Durand, and .Scott Finlayson's models were selected as" best in the class. The models mean
35 percent of the students' grades, and take at least 50 hours of work to complete - all at
home.
Kippen WI enjoy tour
KIPPEN - The Kippen East W.I.
members met at Valu Mart parking
lot for a surprise heritage car trip
and then proceeded to the Village
Post, a new bed and breakfast in a
Heritage Building in Crediton - the
farmer post office. We then trav-
elled to the Lambton Heritage Mu-
seum viewing the many exhibits in-
cluding a doll collection.
While they enjoyed a beverage
and cookies, they held a short meet-
ing. The roll call was "Bring an old
picture or photo and Stell about it."
Ruby Triebner had the smile. Helen
MacLean and Mona Aldetdice
agreed to look after some sports for
the picnic to be held in Crediton on
July 6 at 12:30 p.m.
They then visited Casual Indus-
tries Inc. where we were shown the
making of the furniture, umbrellas,
cushions and fumiturecovers. They
also toured the beautiful show-
rooms.
