son Matthew at Si. Joseph's Hospital on Sat-
urday, June 12. A brother for Junes and An-

DAYNARD • His wife, Margaret, their 3
children: Heather -(Victoria, B.C.), Robin
(Staffa) and Terry (Guelph) and their fami-
lies and surviving sisters and brother sadly
announce the sudden death of Bert Darned
of Staffs on Monday, June 7, 1993. They
give thanks for his life. Ben Daynard•was
bom near Ailenfotd, Ontario on July- 23.
1913 and was raised near St. Marys. He ma-
ned Margaret Ratcliffe on December 25,
1941. He graduated from Emmanuel College
University of Toronto and [(glowing his or-
dination in 1943 he served as United Church
of Canada Minister in Jarvie, Alberta (1943-
1946) and in Hibbert Township from 1946
until his retirement in 1978. He served as
Feldman of the Penh County Federation of
Agriculture for several years and was active
in many rural organizations including Farm
Forum and The Staffs Community Work-
shop. He was very active on rural life can -
minces of the United Church. Ben and Mar-
garet have fanned in Hibbert Township
since 1950 and have established a conserva-
tion preserve as pan of their farm. Ben al-
ways loved his horses and sheep. Cremation
has taken place. Friends were received by
the family at the Lockhart Funeral Horne in
Mitchell on Wednesday, Jme 9 from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate his life
will be held at Hibben United Church at
Staffa on Sunday, June 20 at 2:30 p.m. All
friends are invited. 24c
