Bell Canada announced Friday that
two-way Extended Area Service
(EAS), toll-free calling, between
Exeter and London has been ap-
rproved'by the tRTC. The service
will .be implemented on June 5,
1993.
With the added number of local
calls customers will be able to
make, monthly rates for telephone
service for Exeter customers will
increase when EAS is implement-
ed. Residendal customersx01'11*y
as additional $2.50 per month for
an individual line: business custom-
ers will pay an additional $15.95
per month based on an individual
line.
Exeter qualifies for Extended
Area Service to London under cri-
teria established by the CTRC.
These criteria require that the ex-
changes to be linked are no more
than 40 miles apart, at least 60 per-
cent of the customers in the ex-
change call the other exchange at
illtst once a!meth Sg'any two
months in a twelve 011tetth period,
and a majority (50 percent + one
vote) of customers approve of the
extension and rate increase through
a mail out survey.
Said John Stuart of Bell, "We re-
alized there was a definite demand
for the service due to the Exeter
area survey."
Additional switching facilities are
being installed to provide two-way
EAS between Exeter and London.

"She is asking about poured in concrete curbs, we

"I can see smaller parking lots being exempted; its

Although occupation :into 'the -.station in Grand

:other concerns which have to be addressed.
One of those being the bylaw which * equires a

not need a loading zone but such a 1arge-buildingas
due railway station does.
Council hinted the actual use of the building could
change which would require a loading:zone.
'.'It starts as an office like that but it could change in

Another issue -brought forth -was she foundation.
