The girls didn't make it to the

enough girls.
Precious Blood School is getting
.in on the action of helping keep
the environment clean. On every
Friday students try to bring gar-
hageless lunches. Each classroom
has a grade 7 or 8 monitor who
comes in and marks down how
many pieces of -garbage is in each
students' lunch. After they are all
added up Mrs. Wilhelm puts them
on a chart so all can see which
classroom had the least amount of
garbage. So far the 2/3 room is in
the lead with the most first places.
On April 11, Easter Sunday the
first six students received com-
munion and were given a certifi-
cate of recognition. Each Sunday
different students will be snaking
:their first communion and receiv-
:ing certificates. The communal
celebration with the whole class is
.on May 16.
On April 13, the grade 1 and 5/6
classes travelled by bus to Port Al-

struction, and also viewed the river
system there. Along their journey
they saw how the fish ladder
works. A few of the eagle-eyed
students caught a glimpse of the
rapidly moving fish swimming
down the river. They ate lunch
there and then headed off to the
Huron County Goderich Museum.
The grade eights started prepar-
ing for graduation on April 15 with

photo. There was a lot of running
back and forth to the mirrorsand
quite a few of the students had their
hair cut and styled the night before
or the day of the photos. Everyone
seems excited that graduation is
coming but they're also sad to be
leaving so many good friends be-
hind.
On April 21, "Kids on the Block"
came to Precious Blood School to
talk to the 2/3 and 3/4 classes about
child abuse. With puppets they
showed the importance of reporting
child abuse to the authorities. We
hope they understand that child
abuse is wrong, and that they will
say something to someone like a
relative, teacher or someone they
trust and can ,talk to.
Every month the school .has. a
"Spirit -Day", which is based ort.a
theme. On April 23, Precious
Blood had a "Tacky or Clash Day".
Some of the students who were
brave enough to participate dressed
up in something really tacky or
something that clashed. In the past
months we've had "Hat Day" and
"Red Day". We wonder what the
theme will be next month?
