EXETER - Mary Lambert wants
people to relax. And she wants
them to do heat her new'tred nod
breakfast,- the Cornerstone Inn.
The official opening:of:tire inn,
located at the corners.of John -and
Andrew streets, began with an open
house on.Sunday.
More :than 40 visitors explored
the refurbished 1870 home which
has a wrap around porch and soon-
to-be fish pond in the newly land-
scaped yard.
Inside the spacious four bedroom
home is a sitting room and dining
area, while upstairs are four bright-
lyfinished bedrooms - one with an
ensuite and another with a Juliet
balcony.
Lambert has been slowly renovat-
ing the house since buying . it _in
September 1992.
"I _did a lot of searching Orbe
:right place and town," said thc1 n -
salon native. She viewed a number
'of houses before setting her sights
on Exeter.
"As soon as I walked in to this
house and saw the center ball -plan,
I knew this was the one forme."
But, -.Lambert said, the house
needed a lot of . taender,loving care
both inside and out. "My .primary
:..concern was getting the-inside.up
amidrunning."
rffhis involved'pttlsoering'and pa-
71pering the walls, sanding the floors
eas well as other general repairs.
And although Lambert wants to
:`paint the outside of the house and
Text -up a fence, she =said she feels
lithe house is now readyior guests.
The first will be .arriving this
weekend.
"I hope people will be -comforta-
ble .and at ease *when :they . stay
here "she said. " I want people to
feel like !they care visiting an old
friend."

In Exeter, Lambert said, there is
the potential for a lot of business,
because there isn't a hotel nearby.
"People who are visiting relatives
or are on mini vacations need a
place to stay".
Lambert feels the market has also
grown a bit because of the reces-
sion. Fewer people are travelling

Instead they are exploring their
own region and need a place to stay
for a night.
And since she has always en-
joyed entertaining people and cook-
ing for them, Lambert said she
would enjoy a steady flow of
guests.
