LONDON - Big V Drug Stores,
whose
head of-
fice is
located
in Lon-
don, has
assumed,
for 1993,
the event ti-
tle sponsorship position of the nine-
teenth annual London International
Air Show. This year's event will be
held at the London Ontario Airport
on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday,
June 6 and promises to be just as
exciting, just as educational and
just as inspirational as any show
held previously.
The public's fascination with'
flight is seemingly insatiable and
the holding of an air show is the
only avenue for the general public
to get close to aviation. When it is
air show time, interest is always
high and it will be even more so in
1993 for it was 90 years ago, on
December 17, 1903, that Wilbur
and Orville Wright achieved man's
first powered flight. That day at
Kill Devil Hills, Kiuyhawk, North
Carolina, they flew the Wright Fly-
er a total of four times. The first
flight covered a distance of 120'
and lasted twelve seconds. The
fourth and longest flight of the day
was 852'.
Ann Murray's darlings, "The 1
Snowbirds", will headline the show '
both days, along with solo jet dem-
onstrations by the CF -18A Hornet.,
USAF F -15C Eagle, CF -5A Free-
dom Fighter and the USAF F -117A
Stealth Fighter. Additionally and
making their --first appearance at a
Canadian Air Show, the British
Army Parachute Team, "The Red
Devils", will perform daily, togeth-
er with several other civilian and
military participants.
The gat -s for viewing the static
display aircraft open daily at 8:30
a.m., with the "go fast" three hour
flying display taking to the skies
daily at 1:00 p.m.
Admission includes free car park-
ing at the London Airport. Advance
sale tickets are available across

Kingston), t,.se c N,,.Drug
