CENTRALIA - The Pearce Family
from British Columbia 'provided a
wide variety of music for Family
Night last Wednesday evening.
Everyone enjoyed the hour of mu-
sic which was a real blessing as
each one of the Pearce family sang
songs that they have written.
last Friday night 36 fishing en-
thusiasts of all ages headed to the
shores of Lake Huron and for many
it was the first time to experience
smelt fishing. The "real" fishermen
of the group crawled into their hip -
waders and with their nets in hand,
caught some smelt, although not as
many as hoped for. A bonfire kept
the chill off and -as wieners and
marshmallows were roasted, songs
were sung and a great evening was
shared under a starry sky.
It was a special night last Sunday,
with the Sunday - Schools annual
"Spring Sing Concert". The Youth
opened the evening with a play
called "Are You Ready?" written
and directed by Lori Crawford.
Chad Swance sang a solo accompa-
nied by Justin Parker and Melissa
Simpson who sang "I am a Prom-
ise", and Becky Hunt singing, "The
Lord ismy Shepherd".
The winners of the Bible Search
Contest- were -announced. The girls
held a steady lead for the past five
weeks tmtil Sunday moming;-when
the boys brought 10 new people to
Sunday School, to put the boys
over the top and claim the title this
year. The girls who have won for
the past two years, sure kept the
boys on their toes these past few
weeks. Congratulations boys and
enjoy, the girls will regain the title
next year!
The quiz team Faithwalkers were
well prepared for the challenge giv.
en to them by the teachers. It was
not a close match at all, and the
teachers requested that the final
score not be published. So we'll just
report that the teacthers did well to
jump quick enough to answer one
question confect out of 16. All your
studying Faithwalkers sure did pay
off! The Sunday School Choir was
the evenings finale as they sang six
songs and children read portions of
scripture pertaining to the songs in
which they sang.
The Faithwalkers will have their
final quiz match this Saturday night
at Brucefield school at 8:00. All
)outh 12 years of age and over arc
invited to attend. Contact Jamie
Parker.
