Lake Ontario's Kristy Zammit
won the Stroh's Ontario Ladies Sin-
gles title. Mitchell's Gayle Easun,
Bluewater's only advancing singles
qualifier finished 25th.
Toronto won the Stroh's Men's
Team title while Bluewater finished
fourth in its division. Lake Ontario
won the Stroh's Ladies Team- title,
Bluewater was sixth in its division.
Central Ontario took the Stroh's
Mixed Team title, while Bluewater
took fifth in its division.
Bluewater's Gayle Easun provid-
ed some real excitement in the
Stroh's Open. First, she bowled a
395 single in the last game of the
Stroh's Singles qualifying round
opening night. Easun complained
"It's my third career 395 game - it
seems I just can't bowl any higher".
But, the very next morning in the
fust me of the Stroh's Open La-
dies Team competition, Easun
rolled 11 consecutive strikes and
then a 12th ball chopoff, leaving a
three and two pin standing, scoring
a near perfect 445 game. "I can't
believe it. I finally bowled over 400
- I'm still on cloud nine", Easun
said. Her name now goes in the
record book with the all time ladies
highest single game bowled in the
Stroh's Ontario Open.

"WHY AERATE YOUR LAWN?"
Aeration is beneficial for your lawn in a number of ways.
Aeration will overcome a compacted soil. Compacted soils
make it difficult for roots to grow, limiting the movement of
air, moisture and fertilizer through the soil. It can also re-
duce your water requirements by relieving soil compaction.
Water penetration is increased and water run-off is re-
duced.
If your lawn has a thick layer of thatch, aeration will push
through that layer and improve air, water and nutrient pen-
etration. This will enhance the development of a deep root
system. A deeply rooted lawn will be healthier and better
able to withstand drought, disease and insect stress.
NEXT WEEK: What is overseeding?
