The rill call was "What is your pet's name?" Almost every member had a pet to answer the question, or else they would describe a pet they used to have. Members then explained why they named their pet the way they did. The members were supposed to bring in a small amount of their pet's food to the meeting. The club had fun guessing what kind of ani- mal ate each food. One of the leaders brought in her pet cat. Everyone discussed the cats body shape and size (quite large) and then talked about what would be best for the cat to do and eat to maintain its health. The rest of the meeting was fo- cused istaktfrataitow to -fiaed..cet- tain pets, and what to feed them at different ages. The club learned that younger animals usually need more nutrients in their diet, and a lot of exercise. After that everyone had a snack and drink, then the president ad- journed the meeting. The clubs fourth meeting was at the Lucan United Church on April 12. The roll call was "Name a kind of animal which is smaller than a loaf of bread." Answers included mice, rats, squirrels, guinea pigs and hamsters. The meeting was .centered on discussing :grooming animals. Leaders talked. to members about why we need to do this. There are many reasons; :grooming helps to increase circulation in the skin which makes it healthier, make friends with the animals because most of them enjoy the attention they receive, and much more. After reading about the topic, the members played a memory game; leaders brought out a tray of ob- jects used in grooming animals, and members had to write down as many objects are they remem- bered. When the game was over, the club talked some more about pet care. then had a snack and the pres- ident adjourned the meeting. The club's next meeting is April 21 at the Lucan United Church.
