enjoys potluck supper

VARNA - The Stan Lee Club
members met at the Complex last
Wednesday.
The group participated in a sing -
a -long with Floyd McAsh at the pi-
ano.
The Club were reminded of the
Spring Rally to be held in Exeter
on April 22, registration to begin at
9:30 a.m.
Four members of the Stan Lee
Club --had recently returned from a
trip to five European cwuuries as
well as a brief stop rine' i'td.
Bruce and Anna Keys and Eimer
and Norene Hayter joined a tour of
farm people from various parts of
Canada.
.Floyd McAsh won the door prize,
a basket of Easter eggs.
Several games of euchre were
played. Prize winners were Helen
Pepper, Mayc McBride, George
Phillips and Wilfred Clutter.
- A potluck supper concluded the
meeting.
The Varna Orange Lodge reports
that. the Heart and Stroke Canvass
in .She Central Stanley area raised
3839 .this past winter. This was
down $150 from last year. The can-
vassers this year were Jack Eckel,
Greg Armstrong, thelate Al Keys,
Mona Stephenson, Bill Dowson,
Allan Hayter, Charles Reid, Doug
McAsh and Ivan McClymont.

Blue Water residents take
bus trip to Benmiller Inn
ZURICI i - Last Tuesday evening,
the Home Auxiliary visited the
Blue Water Rest Hahhc to entertain
the residents. Mary Lou Erb was
chairperson and her helpers were
Marie Gingerich, Irene Clausius
and Anne Finlay, who served hot
cross . buns and refreshments. Ali -
aha bleep played two piano sold
and the residents enjoyed hearing
sonic fine fiddle, guitar, banjo And
piano music performed by Adam
Wilson, Andrew Rau, Jack Sim-
mons and Joyce Pepper.

Gerry Schrieber of Hwy. 21 has
been donating his Wcduesday
mornings to the Home and reading
newspaper articles and visiting with
the residents. Gerry is also waxing
the pool table and getting the fel-
lows organised for some challeng-
ing games of pool.
