Zurich Golden Agers meet Monday

ZURICH - The Golden Agers
will be holding their next meeting
on Monday, beginning it with a
pot -luck supper at 5:30 p.m. at the
Hay Township Hall.

Greta Kerswill from Akron, Ohio
spent a few days with her sister An-
nie Finkbeiner and other relatives-
in
elativesin the area.
A buck and doe was held for Pat
Higgit and Laurie Slatergraph on
Saturday at the Zurich Community
Centre. The couple are to be mar-
ried in May in Clinton.
Another buck and doe was held
the same evening in Dashwood for
Mark Hartman and Tracy Vardy
who are to be married in May.
Bill and Rose Mary Ferguson are
celebrating their 25 wedding anni-
versary.
Zurich welcomes to town Phil
and Julie Bender who have moved
into their home on Main St. West.
Pastor Bender will soon be taking
over his duties as minister of the
Zurich Mennonite Church.
Jim and Janisse Zimmerman and
son Nathan have returned from two
weeks in Florida visiting with par-
ents.
Don and Elaine Beauchamp and
family were in Pembroke last
weekend visiting with his parents
for the Easter season.
Glenn and Marg Ned, have re-
turned home from two wggks in
Honda, and Lionel and Rebecca
Wilder are also back from the sun-
ny south.
Elroy and Myraline Desjardine
have returned home from spending
the winter months in Yuma, Arizo-
na, which is also where Mozart and
Marie Gelinas spent the past six
weeks motoring to and from. They
also visited on the way with their
grandaughter and family, Carrie
and Dan Eybergen in Acworth,
Georgia.
Richard and Janet Regier and two
children are in town spending a
couple of weeks with their parents
Lee and Rose Regier and Moms
and Kay Webb.
Best wishes for a speedy recov-
ery go to Madeline Rau who is a
patient in South Huron Hospital.
Kristopher Ducharme, son of
Mike and Vicki, was baptized on
Sunday at St. Peter's Church in St.
Joseph. His godparents were Loret-
ta Ducharme and Barry Block.

91st birthday on Saturday. A spe-

ZURICH - Thursday the residents tried out their Easter bonnets, with no
frills upon them, with the help of Geri Fashions of London. New apparel
of all sizes and description were fitted to every shape and form. Many
members from the community came to browse for the special family mem-
ber at home.
Tuesday morning the Grade 5 St. Boniface Buddies visited B.W.R.H.
and entertained the residents in green apparel. Both the students and resi-
dents had been suffering with the flu earlier in the month, which pro-
longed their St. Patrick's Day activities. The Buddies enjoyed a St. Pat-
rick's Day quiz and green things memory game, and the students read to
the residents in the privacy of their room.
Tuesday evening the five to seven year old Zurich Beavers, under the
leadership of Teresa Verhoog and the helping hand of Darlene Snell as-
sisted 12 young lads entertain the residents with songs, games and the
making of paper flowers for each resident at the Home.
Gladys Gingerich served Wednesday aftemoon tea - the Easter lily and
azalea plants freshened up the room on the lace table cloths, and of course
the squares and goodies would melt in any Easter Bunny's mouth.
Rev. Stephen Alles, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Zurich conducted Thurs-
day afternoon's Chapel Service. Fr. Peter Hayes, St. Bonif>pce Church, Zu-
rich celebrated Mass.
