LUCAN - The new Animal
Friends club had their first meeting
March 22. members, -and leaders,
opened with :the 4-H pledge, then
played a guessing.game. -The roll
call was "What is your favourite
kind of animal?" Most liked ,dogs
or cats.
Members then -proceeded with
the election for executive posi-
tions. The results of the election
are the clubs new president ,and
vice-president, Tara Hackney .and
Naomi .Shelstad. Other executives
included .the secretary, treasurer
and press reporter.
After the :elections, leaders dis-
cussed with the -club ?how to feed,
groom and keep .healthy .different
.animals. They learned each animal -a
is.differentand .in'turn:needs differ-
ent necessities to keep it.alivend
healthy. Then the club enjoyed a
snack while watching a video con -

on Wednesday April 7. at the Poul-
try -Industry Convention and Exhi-
bition in London.
The 13th • Annual Egg Quality
Contest is conducted by The Onta-
rio Egg Producers' Marketing
Burd and is an established tradi-
tion at Canada's _largest poultry
show.
Egg ;producers will compete for
'trophies and cash awards in ,eight
Classes, as well as awards for Best
of Show and;pinoduoer.wilh,bighest
cumulative points. The :Best of
