County Federation of Agricul-
ture is opposed to the proposed
' farm tax program effective in
1984. This program would ena-
ble farmers to to apply for 100
• percent rebateon their farm land
while paying 100 percent taxes
on their homes and farm build-
ings.
In a recorded 3-2 vote, Grand
Bend council accepted a pmpo-
sal in principle to allow location
of a Mothers Restaurants Inc.
facility in temporary lent struc-
tures on the beach for the sum-
nter.
Approval has been given to
the Exeter and area fire board to
,purchase a $30,000 rescue van.
A surplus of $25,000 accumu-
lated by the Kirkton-Woodham

TORONTO - The ;sixth annual
-Foodland Omit io-Rettiter Awards
was held in Toronto on March 8,
and Seip's Valumart in Exeter was
one of six retailers in weslem Onta-
rio presented with an award.
"The winners demonstrated out-
standing creativity and continuity in
their promotional activities forOnta-
no food products," said Elmer Bu-
chanan, Ontario Minister of Agricul-
ture and Food.
The objective of these awards is to
recognize the efforts of grocery re-
-tellers who identify and promote
Ontario produced food to their cus-
tomers.
"Out of 1,600 stores province -
wide who participated in promoting
Ontario products, the award win-
ners have gone the extra measure to
help ensure our fruits and vegeta-
bles are in the customers' grocery
carts at- the end of the shopping
trip," Buchanan said.
