The Anglican parish bible study group met on Thursday at the home of Pat Cornish in Kirkton when the theme was biblical references to hdsband and wife relationships led by Nadine Bedell. At the St. Thomas' Anglican Church on Sunday, March 7 with St. Patrick's, Saintsbury in atten- dance, Robert Parkinson led the service of morning prayer in the ab- sence of Rev. Stephen Emery. Paul Acres led the Psalm and Sylvia Bcatson and Lisa Carroll read the lessons. Tyler Bedell gave a personal message of how he recently came to know Jesus Christ as his Savi- our. A time of fellowship followed the service. At the Granton United Church on Sunday, Pastor Normalic Voakes entitled her sermon "To Boldly Go..." based on the lessons from Genesis 12, Romans 4 and John 3. The choir sang an anthem entitled 'O Precious Thought'. A pre -March Break breakfast was enjoyed by all before the service. UCW "Unit Atte met at Amelia Jame - son's on Thursday afternoon, March 4. 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus' was sung and the leader Doreen McRobert gave lesson thoughts on -the theme 'Hard luck and Potluck' based on`11 Peter 1 and Joshua 10 verse 9, followed by the Lord's Prayer. Business discussion included plans for a Mother and Daughter luncheon on May 8 and the Easter Sunrise service and breakfast at 8:(X) on April 11. Unit 5's turkey supper on March 31 was an- nounced and members must know in advance if you plan to attend. Amelia Jameson presented the program on Lenten Thoughts. Au- drey Wessman and the hostess served supper. Unit two meeting was cancelled on Thursday evening because of the weather. Unit three met at Marion Thom - son's on Tuesday evening, March 2. Elizabeth Garrett chaired the meet- ing and Helen Burnett and Mar- guerite Garrett took charge of the program on Guatemala. "Breathe on -me Breath of God" was sung and the date of the fall bazaar was announced for October 23. Plans were made to make turkey pies again and orders will be taken until April 1 by Marion Thomson. Re- freshments were served by Helen and Marguerite. World Day of Prayer The World Day of Prayer service was held at the Granton United Church on Friday evening, March 5 with St. Thomas' Anglican, Wesley United and Community Bible churches taking part. The service this year was compiled by the women of Guatemala. Leader and readers were April Bryan, Pat Harl- ton, Ruth Loveday, Joan Swidetski, Edith Eaton, Cathie Westman, Mu- riel Lewis and Pastor Normalic Voakes who also accompanied the hymns. Exeter Seniors EXETER - The March meeting of Exeter Seniors was held at the Legion with a good attendance. Exeter is to host the Zone Rally on April 22. Guest speaker will be Gwen Whilsmith. A 50/50 draw was held and win- ners were Olive Essery, Ray Smith, Luella Taylor and Harry Beaver. Helpers with bingo at the Villa this month are Ted and Shirley Wright and Mildred Thomson. President Alva Heywood read a poem "Signs of the Times". Alice Bowen, program convener, read a poem "Friends". Max Ducharme and the town liners played several musical numbers.
