Alice Gardiner presented the Worship service taking her scrip- ture reading from Matthew 5. Her meditation was entitled, A city set upon a hill, followed prayer. The offering was received and dedicat- ed by Alice. For the special number everyone told of their interests and some- thing they were doing this winter, after which a reading was given "If God went on Strike." Lillian Douglas presented the study book on the Middle East, dealing with the facts and feelings of many words associated with the Middle East. An invitation was accepted to at- tend a dinner meeting with the groups Britton twins on April 1 at Listowel Presbyterian Church. The group discussed the up com- ing World's Day of Prayer hosted by Hibbert United Church on March 5 at 2 p.m. Edna reminded everyone of the Presbytery annual -ineetir,ig in .Knox Presbyterian Church on -February 23. The women welcomed die 1st Cromarty Scouts, Cubs and Bea- vers to Cromarty Presbyterian Church on Sunday for theirennual Scouting Sunday. Rev. Lucie Milne welcomed everyone and chose for her sermon "A Gift Called Faith". The Cro- marty Junior choir sang during the service. Scouts and Cubs participated in Atte service by reading the scrip - Mires, leading in the responsive - treading and receiving the offering. All first Cromany Cubs received their Religion in Life Badges. The presentation was made by Nancy Dearing and Mike Leming (cub leaders) and Rev. Milne. Leaders for the beavers are Carol Bennew- ies, Dan Bennewies, Roman Von Lukawieck, Dale Simpson and Su- san Simpson. Leaders for the Scouts are, Nel- aon Pullman, Linda Pullman, Twy- Aa Waddell adn Paul Desloges. banquet followed the service misollieloburch basement. A bountiful pot luck dinner pre- ceeded the February meeting of the Stalin Women's Institute on Wednesday February 24. M arjorie Drake hosted the meet- ing at her home assisted by Freda Kerslake. President, Joyce Miller presided for the meeting opening with a poem, The Little Country Things followed by the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect in unison. Ten members answered the roll call by telling what they had ac- complished this winter. Kay Smale gave some housecleaning ups. The upcoming 90th anniversary was discussed. It was decided to hold our celebration on the date that Sudra Women's Institute was orgoonzed ninety years ago July 13, 1903. A committee was named to plan the event, Joyce Miller, Esther Smale, Freda Kerslake, Roberta Templeman and Marjorie Drake. They will meet the morning of March 10 at the home of Roberta to begin their planning. Program for the afternoon was Sing Say or Play, with a real varie- ty, some good story telling, a con- test on Canada. some old health remedies and readings. Our hostess showed us many of their gifts re- ceived at their 50th wedding anni- versaary. Joyce expressed her thanks to all and -adjourned the meeting.
