Nifty Needlers practice cross-stitching
EXETER - The Exeter 11 Sdtch-
ery Club has finally decided on a
name, and will henceforth be
known as the Nifty Needlers.

ZURICH - The Ash Wednesday
dining for seniors was well attend-
ed Wednesday, February 24 with a
fish and chicken dinner. Tammy
Antaya welcomed everyone and in-
formed the diners of upcoming
events. The 50/50 draw was won
by Lee Regier.
Happy 43rd Anniversary was
sung for Lee and Rose Regier, and
also Happy Birthday for Tammy
Antaya. A poem for Antaya was
read by Genie who also presented
her with a gift on behalf of the Sen-
ior Diners.
How Great Thou An, Amazing
Grace and The Old Rugged Cross
were sung with Phyllis Deichert as
pianist. This was followed with a
successful Penny Sale.

Annual bingo is huge success

ZURICH - Once again the annual
Bingo held to -raise money for Bro
Bob Minleholtz in India was a big
success.
The event took place at the Zu-
rich Community Centre Sunday af-
ternoon with a good turnout.
Once again Don Beauchamp do-
nated his time to call out the num-
bers w the nearly 150 people at-
tending.
There were several lucky winners
for the regular .games while Share
the Wealth winners were Mark Re-
gier and Therese Stark both of Zu-
rich getting $37 each while the
S100 jackpot went to Cindy Dixon
of Crediton.
A social hour followed after-
wAttts with teoffeeijuice land cook-
ies.
Day of Prayer
Don't forget to attend the Wddd
Day of Prayer this Friday, March 5
in Zurich at the United Church
which begins at 2 p.m. Everyone is
welcome.
Due w storm conditions last
week the pancake supper at the' Lu-
theran church was postponed to
Sunday, February 28. The St. Boni-
face Youth Group held their outing
in London this past Sunday and
went rollerblading at the Western
Fair Complex.

Marcia Memer of California re-
turned home on Saturday after
spending the past two weeks visit-
ing with her sister Deb O'Hagan,
Centralia and attended the funeral
of their mother, Elaine Meurer on
February 19.
Garry and Brenda Koehler, Hen-
sall and friends recently returned
home from a nice week's holiday in
Mexico.
Congratulations to Gordie Lav-
ery, Zurich, on winning $1,000 at
the bingo last Thursday night.
Heather Consitt (a student of the
University of Guelph) spent read-
ing week with her parents John and
Helen Consiu and brothers.

thy to Juliette Denomme and her
family on the sudden death of her
son (Blackie Denomme) in Kitch-

A family dinner was held in Ken-
da's honour last Saturday at the
home of his son, Joe and Marilyn
Kenda Jr. with his wife Maria also
attending.
Don and Alice Masse along with
Mike and Wendy Masse and two
boys returned home last Thursday
after spending a fun week in Orlan-
do, Florida.
They enjoyed going to many
places such as Disney World and
Universal Studies. The kids also
liked their fust plane ride.
Quilting bee
St. Peter's Lutheran Church ladies
will be having their annual Quilting
Bee work-a-thon, in their fellow-
ship hall on Tuesday, March 9 at
9:00 a.m. A potluck supper will fol-
low.
Fair board
The Zurich Agricultural Society
will be holding their Fair Board
meeting at the township Hall on
Monday, March 8 beginning at 8
p.m.
New and old members are wel-
come.
Concert
The students of St. Boniface
School will be holding a musical
spring concert en Monday, March 8
at 1:30 and 7:30 pan. then again on
Tuesday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for afternoon show are $1
and evening performances will be

CENTRALIA - March is Physi-
cal and Spiritual Fitness month for
Women's Ministries. To get us
started physically; snow shoeing
Saturday morning got the legs lim-
bered up and Sunday afternoon the
legs again got a work out as it was
outdoor family skating. Each Sun-
day afternoon in March, weather
permitting, there will be outdoor
family skating meeting at Kevin
and Sharon Parker's at 2:15. Com-
ing up: March 15 - 6:00 p.m. a 4
mile penny walk beginning at Ca-
nadian Tire. Everyone invited to

into a "crazy" game of floor hock-

Search Contest appears to have the
girls taking the lead. Chris Parker
and Becky Coward tied for funding
the scripture and although the exact
count of Bibles were not an-
nounced, the girls looked to have
the boys oetnumbered. Let's go

Rev. Stanley Hammond brought
a very encouraging message on
Sunday morning. It is always a
pleasure to have Rev. Stanley join
us. And once again, we enjoyed
hearing the Kingsway Quartet Sun-
day night as they provided excel-
lent Gospel music.
The Youth Group and the Faith
Walkers will be going to Youth for
Christ in Brucefield on Saturday

The next "Mother's Time" get to-
gether at the Lutheran Church fel-
lowship hall will be held on

It was nice to see some boy
scouts and leaders in their uniforms

Lord Baden Powell's birthday. He
was founder of the group.
